Happy New Year!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy new year. Thank you pilots, new and old, for choosing to fly with us and keeping the runway busy at 39N. May 2024 be the year you go a step further in your aviation journey. Maybe you get your pilots license, or your next rating, or fly somewhere new, or get that new avionics upgrade you have been thinking about.
As 2023 came to an end, we took some time reflecting on the past year of flight. We have had quite a few milestone accomplishments at the Princeton Flying School. Read on to see how many students soloed, got their private pilots license, as well as additional ratings.
While we are in the winter season, please remember about winter operations. Ken (Airport Manager) is hoping we don't have any snow, but if we do, the runway will be plowed and we will be flying again once visibility permits. Details are below about winter operations. And a friendly reminder about ordering fuel: the more notice you give us the better. Please call ahead for fuel orders. As a reminder, we can fuel when you aren't there. The more time you give us, the better it is for our fuel truck and you! Self serve fuel is also fully functioning 24/7.
Avionics installations have expanded. Check out the latest and greatest avionics for your aircraft by contacting Ken or Jack. Many satisfied customers, you could be one too.
Our second Pilot Spotlight was shared last month! Click here to read about Andrew Bird, one of our students who got both his private and his instrument rating with us! Stay tuned for the second Monday of each month for future Pilot Spotlights. If you have an interesting perspective or would like to be spotlighted, please reach out to us via email and let us know! 39N@princetonairport.com
Read on to see what happened this past month and what is happening in 2024!

Thank you for your generosity and donations. The holiday season is about opening your heart, and that is exactly what we saw here at 39N.

Winter Operations
Winter Operations are In Effect. This means, if it snows and you have a hangar or tie down that you would like to be plowed out, please call the FBO 609-921-3100. The more notice you give us, the better. Snow moves easier when it is not frozen over, so do plan accordingly. Same goes for removing snow from your plane if it kept in a tie down spot.
Flight School Planes: We have pre-heat plugins for four of our flight school planes (38F, 3RM, 8MC, & 38N) Please take note of the parking spots assigned to these spots and be sure to help us plug in if you are the last lesson/rental at the end of the day (temperature depending). If you are the first lesson/rental please coil the cords up and put back near the fence. The team at 39N will be around to help as well. There is a diagram of the parking spots near the front desk at the FBO. Any questions, feel free to ask.

From The Right Seat
Pete Rafle CFII, ATP
I have collected and used aviation phrases, maxims, sayings, and other noteworthy pilot utterances over the years. I thought that newer pilots and even the older ones could use a repeat of some of my favorites to enhance their appreciation of the flying experience. Just my way of saying Happy New Year.
- “I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
- “ Let’s get one thing straight. There’s a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight.” - Anonymous
- “ If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, then they get bigger again.” - Anonymous
- “ Airspeed, altitude, and brains. Two are always needed to successfully complete the flight.” -Anonymous
- "Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute” - Gil Stern
- “ Learn from the mistakes of others. You won’t live long enough to make all of them yourself.”- Anonymous
- “Remember, you fly the airplane with your head, not your hands or feet.” - Anonymous
- “ A fool and his money are soon flying more airplane than he can handle.” - Anonymous
- “Any pilot can describe the mechanics of flying. What it can do for the spirit of man is beyond description.” - Barry Goldwater
- “ Great pilots are not born. A man or woman may possess good eyesight, sensitive hands, and perfect coordination, but the end result is only fashioned by steady coaching, much practice, and experience.” - Unknown
