Caring Palms Holiday Closings
First, as to the timing of this newsletter, we at Caring Palms hopes everyone has a safe and happy Halloween (if it is something you celebrate or participate in).
Caring Palms will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 24th through November 26th for the Thanksgiving holiday. Whether you are traveling, or staying at home, we hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe holiday.
Looking forward, Caring Palms will probably close Saturday December 24th and Saturday December 31st for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve (at least this is the thought process at present). If anything changes, it will be announced in the December newsletter.

Reiki Classes
This past half year, we had fewer students than hoped, but those that took the classes enjoyed it greatly. The new class location has worked very well with plenty of space for people.
Sometime next month, we will be creating a class schedule for next year. And while it is a renewal year for massage therapists, we will not have as many classes as we have had in previous license renewal years. (Keep in mind that these classes are available to anyone that wants to take them, but FL massage therapists get continuing education for them.)
We will try to create class opportunities for everyone to have classes in all levels of Reiki including some last minute classes in August, as well as other classes through the end of the year.

Massage Classes for Massage Therapists
Caring Palms has had this wonderful class called Advanced Techniques and Body Mechanics for several years now. For continuing education, it is worth 12 live credit hours. Here are the secrets that have kept Brian practicing for 20 years. Most therapists burn out in 4 – 10 years because of sore hands or backs. This seminar teaches things to help therapists to work longer and stronger with less effort.
Unfortunately, while it is something every massage therapist needs, we have not had the numbers that we would like to see, and the class ends up getting cancelled more times than given.
We are looking at trying to schedule this sometime next year before the end of August and it requires a minimum of 4 students.
Please, if you are interested, and know someone else that would also be interested, let us know as soon as possible so a date can be set.

The Fork In The Road

We travel along paths, and while it would be great if those paths were straight and easy to follow, most times they are not. They usually bend, curving left or right, or sometimes into a circle heading back the way we came. But inevitably, we come to a decision point… the fork in the road.
First off, why is it always a fork and not some other utensil? But that would have to be another article.
We reach a point where we have to make a decision… which way do I go? These may come once in a while, but more likely, they come fairly frequently. And these decision points can be simple, or life altering.
So, how do we decide which way to go? We can start with the logical method and start making lists. And lists are good. We put down the pros and the cons, the pluses and the minuses. Obviously, if one list has many items on one side, and the other has only a few, the decision is simple. It is when they have a fair number each that the choice is harder.
Next, we look at how we feel about the choices. Do we really want this? Are we afraid that it might not be right? Yes, fear has a part in this. Change is a necessary thing if we continue to grow. But change is something we usually fear. Change forces us out of our comfort zones, makes us face something new, forces us to adapt new habits, and leave old ones behind. But we need to look at our choices, and remove fear from the process. Then we can make a decision based on feeling and logic.
When those two things still leave us unsure, we open up to the universe… we use out intuition. We ask for guidance. We open to all possibilities. Which choice helps us grow? Which one makes us happy. Which one feeds our souls?
Once we put all those together, we make a choice. We know what the right way is. But this brings another decision, whether to follow that choice or not.
Open to the universe. See what it is showing you, and then choose. Hopefully, it is a choice to grow.

Caring Palms schedules Reiki classes throughout the year. Because we can not hold them at the studio as we have in the past, we are holding them at another location, and this incurs additional cost. Therefore, we are not scheduling as many classes as we used to. We are also holding classes for a minimum 4 or more students. We also need to let the class site know a week before the class date whether we will be having it or not. So, if you are interested, sign up early.
The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. Any class marked as 'Closed' has filled up. (Note: In some cases, one may be able to enter a class marked 'Closed' with permission of the instructor.) Because we are renting the location per use, each class requires a minimum of four (4) students to happen.
You may sign up for any of these through the website, or over the phone with a credit card.

More classes will be added based on how the ones currently on the schedule go.
All classes are open to anyone wanting to learn this unique method of hands-on healing. The cost for each class is $150 no matter what level of Reiki the class is for. A $75 deposit is required a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the class date (or permission of the instructor) to reserve a space in the class. Full payment must be received two (2) days before the class date. Classes with no deposits received by the cut off date will be canceled. All class statuses may be viewed under Reiki, Reiki Class Information, and Class Schedule. You can also sign up for classes there. (Check the website for the location.)
Reiki 1, 2, and 3 classes are Florida Board of Massage Approved for six (6) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)

Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings.
