This newsletter is a little late this month as things have been a little hectic. I guess I was waiting on The Force, or as in this case, the 4^th. Everyone have a happy Star Wars day. Use the Force and do some good out there.

Although Reiki class dates have not been posted, Caring Palms is still teaching Reiki. Because of logistics, Reiki 1 is being taught to two people at a time, which makes it a comfortable and personal class. If you are interested in taking a Reiki 1 class, please call or email and we can set one up.

Those people that have already taken a Reiki 1 class, and are looking to take Reiki 2, please let me know and a class can be set up. This requires enough people to rent a space, and I believe there are more than enough to do this as long as they are interested. So please contact me so I can start compiling a list.

Reiki 3 can be taught to as little as 2 people at a time, or to bigger groups. Those interested should contact Caring Palms so a class can be scheduled.

I am still looking to hold a Reiki 4 class (Reiki and crystals), so those interested should let me know.

Do you feel yourself a knowledgeable person? Do you know and understand things? Where did you get your knowledge… books, teachers, TV? But are you wise?

As we learn, we accumulate knowledge, and this goes into our internal database, filed away for when we need it again. We learn from many sources. There are books, either text books, or any other… anything that introduces us to things we did not previously know. If you read the newspaper, or online news, you learn about current affairs. If you look up recipes, you learn about cooking.

We also learn from being a student in a classroom, and this can be grade school, college, or any class you take to improve yourself, or to do new things. These could be classes in learning a new language, cooking, Reiki, photography, or anything that spurs one’s interest.

But what about wisdom? While knowledge comes from learning things, wisdom comes from experiencing things. Wisdom tells you not to stick your hand in the fire or will get burned. But that wisdom came from sticking your hand in the fire and getting burned. You gather wisdom when you apply the knowledge you have learned, and in doing so, you learn more things. In a way it is like assembling something you purchased. You read the directions, thus learning something. But then when you try to follow these directions, you find things do not work exactly as they are printed on paper. That is where you gain wisdom, as you try to follow what is given, and then draw in knowledge to apply when things do not go as planned.

It is good to be knowledgeable. Ask anyone that has been on Jeopardy. But it is also important to be wise, wise in how you approach things, wise in how you carry yourself. This is what makes you the type of person that can interact with others, count on, earn respect. 

So, learn all you can, but be wise in the application of that knowledge.

And remember… Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Darkness exists, but it can only exist in the absence of light. We see shadows, but those shadows are only cast because light is there to cast them. 

 

It is easy to see darkness everywhere. Just look around at the world. There is hate. There is evil. There is violence. 

 

But you are only seeing darkness because light is being cast upon it. And what we need to do is spread more light, create more positive energy so that it will eventually erase the darkness. To do that, the light needs to shine in every corner, every crack and crevice. And it can, but you have to help. Every bit of positive energy, every good thought, every smile creates more light to fight off the darkness. 

 

Years ago, we wrote a filk song (yes, I’m going there again) based on Star Wars and set to the tune of “Stand By Me”. We called it “Luke’s Story”. The song started with the 2^nd verse, and is very haunting…

 

Now the Knights are all gone, and the future looks dark,

and the death-star is the only thing I see,

No I won’t be afraid, I’ll control my fear,

just as long as the Force, is with me.

 

Yes, The Force is with you. Spirit has your back. Spirit wants to see the light overcome the darkness, so they will back you 110%. Don’t give in to fear. Let your light shine bright, and let it spread to others who will in turn spread it further.
