Welcome to this month's Caring Palms Healing Arts newsletter. This month, we have some news and a couple articles for you.
Online sign up is now available for the Reiki and Advanced Body Mechanics classes for the first few months. Because of the pandemic, the number of classes have been limited, and the number of students per each class has been limited to four so we can social distance ourselves during the lecture periods. More classes will be added as time and circumstances pass.

Lease Signed
Caring Palms just signed an extension of the current lease at the Osceola professional Center. Caring Palms is now committed to another year at the current location. Caring Palms’ current lease ends May 31st, and with the extension, guarantees Caring Palms will be open and available through May 31st of 2022 (barring any other complications, pandemics, global catastrophes, or anything else).
Caring Palms looks forward to continuing the healing work we have been doing through the middle of next year.

Establishment Number Change
Here’s a good one. When Caring Palms moved to the current location, we had to get a new establishment number from the state. (An establishment number is assigned by the Department of Health and identifies all healthcare related facilities. It's that MM number you see under the date at the top of the newsletter.)
Well, the Board of Health called the other day and explained that they assigned the same number to another business and that I had to change. The email stated…
As discussed, the department recently discovered an issue where our system inadvertently issued the same license number to a different facility. This system error has been corrected and you have been issued license numbered MM41272. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you.
This means having the sign person change the numbers on my door, making new business cards, changing the website, and many other things. (This will all take time to do.) So not only do we pay for the government to make mistakes, we have to pay because they make mistakes. Life is a thrill ride. Enjoy it.

Being Human

Last month, when I talked about the loss of a brother, I broke down the parts of me and how each reacts. The realization of this is that we are all a series of parts. Now, those parts interact and work as one, but they are all parts and have their own separate breakdowns.
For instance, I am a lot of things. I have more parts than some, and less than others. And let’s not get that confused with roles that we play. I am a husband, a teacher, a writer, an engineer (as sorts), a builder (as sorts), a healer. Those are all thing I do with the parts of me that I am.
The parts that I am breakdown like this… I am an empath, a psychic, a medium, a lightworker, but most of all, I am a human, and that last one is the one that doesn’t always play well with the others.
I am an empath, I feel things, emotions, energies. I get invisible signs and signals from the universe, from people. Sometimes it is hard to block them out when I want peace and quiet. I shield. But sometimes the energies are all too strong, like in crowds, when everyone is feeling strong emotions. This is not something I choose to do. It is something I am.
I am a psychic, and like the empath, there are different signals from everything around me. Suddenly I feel one way, I feel something is right. The next, I might feel something completely different. These are energies coming to me, and they are subject to change, sometimes suddenly.
I am a medium. I talk with the dead, or I might say to those who have travelled beyond the veil. I am able to open up and get messages for people. I am able to be directed, or give the proper suggestion to someone in need. I not only hear spirit when I am doing readings or trance sessions, I hear them all the time when I am open to them. That thought that comes into my head suddenly is not from me. That article that comes out of nowhere and leaps onto the page, that does not come from me. The words that come, the phrasing, it is not how I talk. But it is how I write, how we write. (I remember having this hard program to write, and having trouble getting the code the way it needed to be. I told someone that I was going somewhere quiet and waiting for divine intervention. And before too long, an idea came that was just perfect.)
I am a lightworker, I help people with my gifts. One might argue that this is something I do, but instead, it is what I am based on what I do. Because I help people with the gifts I’ve been given, that makes me a lightworker. Because I help heal people, guide people, teach people, it drops me into that lightworker category. It is as big a part of me as anything else, yet uses all the previous parts to be this one thing.
And finally, I am human. Yes, along with all that joy and sunshine, I am human. I am no different than anyone else. Because of the other parts, and what I do with them, folks might think I don’t suffer human frailties. Think again. I feel fear, anger, hate, love, hope, joy, sadness, loss, and everything else that makes up this part. I have an ego (though I keep it in check at a very low level). I have physical issues with this body I am inhabiting.
It is the human part that does not always get along with the other parts. The medium might be setting to prepare for a reading. But the human part wants to be in control, wants to disrupt, and occasionally does. Sometimes it will create “performance anxiety” to keep the medium from getting deep enough.
We live in a world of enlightenment, where people are on a path to ascension. But I don’t care how lit, how awoke, or how ascended one is. One still needs to deal with this human part that can jump in and screw things up. Maybe something happened that made one angry. That person just became a little less woke because they allowed that human reaction to happen. And that is the key, being aware that these things are there, and limiting what they do, controlling the human desires and reactions. Maybe one just laughs and walks away instead of getting angry. That is when the other parts win over the human.

Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.

Guided Meditation CDs Available In-House and Online
The first three guided meditations are now available. We have a small inventory in-house). When these have been sold, we will replenish them (replenishment takes about 10 days). These meditations are also available online as CDs or MP3s and can be purchased through the Meditations Page. If you are looking for a safe meditative journey to relax or work, come see us, or purchase one (or all three) online. Available meditations include, Finding Sanctuary, Working Through Past Experiences, and Visiting With Your Guides. We are hoping to have the other three available within a few months. |

The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. Any class marked as 'Closed' has filled up. (Note: In some cases, one may be able to enter a class marked 'Closed' with permission of the instructor.)

Each class is limited to four people so we are not cramped.
Reiki 1
- Saturday, March 13th, 10:00am - 5:00pm Confirmed

Reiki 2 (This class requires a minimum of two students for it to happen.)

All classes are open to anyone wanting to learn this unique method of hands-on healing. The cost for each class is $150 no matter what level of Reiki the class is for. A $75 deposit is required a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the class date (or permission of the instructor) to reserve a space in the class. Full payment must be received two (2) days before the class date. Classes with no deposits received by the cut off date will be canceled. All class statuses may be viewed under Reiki, Reiki Class Information, and Class Schedule. You can also sign up for classes there. (Check the website for the location.)
Each Reiki class is Florida Board of Massage Approved for six (6) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)

Advanced Body Mechanics and Techniques |
The following is a list of currently scheduled classes. This class is a two-day class worth 12 CE hours for massage therapists. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. The schedule is as follows:

Each class is limited to four people so we are not cramped. It takes a minimum of two people for this class to happen, and those signing up for it need to do so at least one week before the scheduled date.
- Thursday, March 18th, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Friday, March 19th, 10:00am - 5:00pm
All classes are scheduled to be held at the Caring Palms Studio. Should the location change, that change
will be on the website and students notified.
Maximize your results with less effort. Utilize the science of martial arts and apply it to massage. Advanced Body Mechanics and Techniques for Massage Therapists, is designed to reconnect the massage therapist with proper body mechanics and techniques while putting a new twist on things and showing how to get more pressure with little effort. While it does go over some basics, it takes body mechanics to a new level where every move involves the use of the therapist's entire body so they can work without hurting themselves. The class being part lecture, part hands-on practice takes positions, centering, and the proper use of body strength from Japanese martial arts and applies them to the art of massage therapy. It also shows how to focus one's energies to increase their strength with simple exercises meant to teach the student how to 'think' beyond where they are working so they can get deeper into the client and to channel their energies to the point of thought. The student will learn how to focus their energies and use their body to do deep work and not get hurt. This class will help anyone to work deeply with less effort no matter if one is 90 pounds or 250 pounds. This class is for both the seasoned therapist and the new therapist. It will show moves everyone does, but in a new light as well as moves many people may not have seen before. The idea is not to dictate how to practice, but to show better body mechanics which the therapist can adapt to what they do. This is true whether they adapt all of it or just part of it.
Florida Board of Massage Approved for twelve (12) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)
Class Cost: $300

Caring Palms Hosts Mediumship Classes |
Currently, all of Marilyn's class are being held online through Zoom. If you want to take a class, call her and she will tell you what you need to do. When this changes, you will see it here first.
Every month, Caring Palms is host a mediumship class taught by Marilyn Jenquin of the International Foundation for Spiritual Knowledge. In this class, Marilyn teaches the British style of mediumship (this is similar to the style used by John Edward). Each class contains a lecture, a meditation, and class exercises. This is for all ranges of students from the beginner, to the long time student.
Mediumship is a method of communicating with people who are no longer in their physical body, but in the spirit world. The class teaches students to do evidential readings as exercises so they get comfortable developing a relationship with those in spirit. This class is for anyone wanting to work with spirit whether they intend to become professional mediums or simply to use it in their everyday lives.

New Procedures due to the Pandemic
Because of the ongoing issue with COVID 19, there will be changes in procedures to keep everyone (client and therapist alike) safe.
- Everyone coming in will have their temperature taken by a non-touch forehead thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be asked to come back another time.
- A new form has been added letting you know that everything possible is being done to keep the disease from spreading. Basically, it is an information disclaimer like people sign for massage or Reiki sessions.
- During the intake process, while scanning, spirit will be asked if it is safe to work on that client.
- The client will be required to wear a face mask while they are face up (supine) during the session. If you do not have a mask, a disposable one will be provided.
- Your therapist will be wearing a mask during the entire session.
- After the session, all surfaces touched will be wiped down with disinfectant, and some will be cleaned through UV light.

We have added a Hepa/UV filter in the room that will be running at all times.
These procedures will not be bypassed under any circumstances. The idea is to keep everyone safe, yet allow them to get their needed sessions.
Also, if you normally refuse to wear a mask when going about normal errands, please wait to come in. If you have been in large groups that do not wear masks, please wait to come in. If you know that you have been exposed to people that have COVID, please wait to come in until you know you do not have it. This is for our safety as well as yours.

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings. If you have an interest, please contact Brian and something can be scheduled. These can also be scheduled from the website. |
