Word Play

When we speak, we use words to convey the message we want to get across. But do we really consider all the possibilities each word can bring to life?
Many words sound the same while having different meanings. Other words, we have one use for, but never explore the possibilities if we take them apart.
I am a person that always hears multiple meanings and finds fun in words, and in the context given especially if there is no, or poor punctuation. I read signs and wonder at the possibilities. I see signs all the time that make me wonder their true meaning.
One said, “Don’t let worries kill you. Let the church help.” It does make me wonder what the church is going to do.
Another said, “Don’t forget Mom. Studs on sale.” This was of course at a jewelry store, and I assume they were talking about earrings. Unless they really meant that Mom needs to spice up her life.
There was a sign advertising “Dryer Vent and Duck Cleaning.” Now, we know that duct tape is commonly called duck tape, but it does make me wonder. Hey, take a gander at this, he cleans ducks. But does he put them in a row?
But what about words themselves? There was a program years ago where they realized that putting the letters “dis” in front of anything meant something bad. Dis-appointed. Dis-gruntled. Dis-aster. But for some reason, one never feels appointed, or gruntled. And if putting dis in front of aster means something bad, then the word alone has to be something good. So when things go right, I’ll be loving the aster.
Or, how about whack. Why are things always out of whack? If you knew how many times someone tells me that they are out of whack, well, it’s a lot. But if someone being out of whack means they are feeling bad, then being in whack should mean they they are feeling good. But no one ever tells me that they are in whack.
And finally, why is someone either overwhelmed or underwhelmed? Why can’t someone just be sufficiently whelmed?
I hope this brought a slight chuckle to you and left you feeling whelmed.

Upcoming Reiki 2 Class
There is a Reiki 2 on the schedule for July 29th. There is currently one person signed up for it, and it will happen if that person is the only student, and I have to bring in helpers to have a decent number.
There have been several Reiki 1 classes in the past few months, so there are people able to take this class. If you are interested, please sign up, and sign up now. If the class size is big enough, I will find a place to hold it, but I can not wait until a few days before the class date to book a place.
It has been hard scheduling classes in the last couple of years with not having a big enough room to hold them. This is why I have been teaching to two students at a time, and scheduling more classes. But Reiki 2 is group work. And while I used to have classes of all levels regularly, I have not simply because the numbers are not there.
If you have had Reiki 1, and want to take Reiki 2, you need to sign up for this class. As of this point, I do not know when, or if I will be scheduling another.
After this, I will be looking to set up a Reiki 3, and then a Reiki 4.

Caring Palms schedules Reiki classes throughout the year. We are currently holding these classes at the studio because we have not been getting enough students to cover the rising cost of conference room rentals. We are also limiting the class size to 2 students (Reiki 1 and Reiki 3, with a few more allowed for Reiki 2 as we only need one table for that).
The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class requires a minimum of two (2) students to happen.
Classes can be scheduled any day (Tuesday thru Saturday) provided there are no other appointments scheduled.
If you are interested in taking a class, and one is not listed, please call and one can be scheduled.
You may sign up for any of these through the website, or over the phone with a credit card.
Reiki 1
- TBD - a class can be scheduled at any time for two students. If interested, please let us know.
Reiki 2
- Saturday, July 27, 2024, Confirmed
Reiki 3
Reiki 4
- Saturday - To Be Determined
More classes will be added based on how the ones currently on the schedule go.
All classes are open to anyone wanting to learn this unique method of hands-on healing. The cost for each class is $150 no matter what level of Reiki the class is for. A $75 deposit is required a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the class date (or permission of the instructor) to reserve a space in the class. Full payment must be received two (2) days before the class date. Classes with no deposits received by the cut off date will be canceled. All class statuses may be viewed under Reiki, Reiki Class Information, and Class Schedule. You can also sign up for classes there. (Check the website for the location.)
Reiki 1, 2, and 3 classes are Florida Board of Massage Approved for six (6) Continuing Education Hours (CEUs)

Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings.
