Closed
Caring Palms is now closed for sessions. See the The Next Phase article to get a feel where Caring Palms will be headed in the future. The website will be going through some major changes to reflect the current status. Currently, the mobile site may not be working, and if that is the case, it will probably stay that way as the host I use (Register.com) will charge to fix their problems. The old site will remain available and completely functional.
It has been an honor, a pleasure, and a love to work with and on each person that has passed through my treatment room. For that, I thank you all.

Reiki 4 Class Was a Big Success
We had a Reiki 4 (Reiki with Crystals) class in October, and it went over very well. Even though this was only the second time the class was taught, it went very smoothly, and students enjoyed the information passed.
We had seven people squeezed into a small conference room with four massage tables. We taught the Crystal Grid, Rites of Passage, the care and feeding of crystals, and more.
The afternoon was taken up with learning about placement of crystals for a Reiki session and then performing that without guidance.
The students enjoyed it, and are looking forward to putting this new knowledge into practice. Go forth and spread your gifts.

The Next Phase
The question is… what is the next phase?
I know I have been told to start writing “that book”. I want to continue to offer readings, and that can be done over zoom, or they can be done at the house. I have been talking to two of the therapists at my current location who have offered me their rooms when they are not there. This is something I am considering to continue to help some people. But my availability will not be what it is.
I am thinking about continuing to offer classes. After the success of my last class (after the rollercoaster of sign ups), I want to continue. They just will not be that frequent. I might be able to teach two in my home. More would require conference room rental which has worked well.
I have considered outcalls in some limited cases, but it is nothing I am willing to do on a regular basis.
The website is paid up for two more years although the mobile site seems to have stopped working. Also Constant Contact (my newsletter publisher) is paid up for a while. I will probably take some effort to remove those that do not open my newsletters so the list gets smaller. (There are some 1,600 contacts, and the open rate is about 45%.) Then I will send out articles periodically, at least until the money runs out. (This is another way of keeping connected to spirit, and doing their work.)
So, while this is an ending and a beginning, it is not a complete cutoff. Keep checking the website for more information as we move forward.

Gratitude
by Brian Dean
After over 30 years as a healer, 27 years as a Reiki master, 22 years as a massage therapist, I have one feeling as I am being pushed into ‘retirement’… Gratitude.
And while I am being pushed away, I am still grateful for all the work I have been allowed to do, all the people I have been allowed to help, to educate, all the energies that have been made available to me in the process.
I am also grateful for all the teachers that have given me the knowledge to work through this amazing journey. This includes the one who started me on this path (and then turned to the dark side of the force) to the ones that still teach me today, and the ones that will continue to teach me in the future.
I am grateful for the people I have been able to teach, for they have taught me way more than I could ever teach them. Every learning experience is a two-way path. Learning always goes both ways.
I am grateful for the help of Spirit who has been my constant companion, guiding this journey even before I knew I was on a journey. I am also grateful for the reminders and aid when I’m playing Scrabble, working in the yard, or just living my life. I am also understanding the push to move to the ‘next phase’ (which one might call the 3rd act at this point), as well as the push which came through other mediums to get this book written.
I am grateful to the friends and family on both sides of the veil, and the spirits that have allowed me to work with them to connect them to loved ones on this side. That is where true healing happens.
I am grateful that my life changed to something more meaningful than just going to a job. Don’t get me wrong. I liked working as a computer programmer, but it was not as fulfilling.
I’m grateful for the ‘me’ I have become (or maybe the realization of it as deep down, I have always been this way). I just wish it had come sooner. But we all know that desire… “I want patience, and I want it now, dammit”.
All in all, it has been a great ride, which is not over yet. There is still more to come, more healing to do, more teaching, more Spirit work.

Closing Time
by Brian Dean
There was a song many years ago called “Closing Time”. It, in short, told the story of a bar closing down for the evening, and all the patrons having to leave and make their way to their homes, or to wherever they decide to go afterwards.
Closing time
Open all the doors and let you out into the world
Turn all of the lights on over every boy and every girl
One last call for alcohol so finish your whiskey or beer
You don't have to go home but you can't stay here
In this case, the place is closing for the night and reopening the next day with all the normal expectation of what the place brings. On one line, it hopes that you have found companionship, or company. “I hope you have found a friend”
All in all, the song talks about closing, and moving on, because “you can’t stay here”. And that is life. Things close, things open. It is a sequence of ins and outs, ups and downs, beginnings and endings, and endings and beginnings.
And in truth, with every end, comes a new beginning. Sometimes it is not clear. Sometimes it is scary. But it is a new beginning. And each new beginning is filled with new possibilities, new challenges, new chances to live to the fullest.
As the song says, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end”. Yes! Something has to end for something new to begin. That is what I am looking at now. What is the next phase?
The next phase includes staying connected to spirit, and doing their work as best I can. This also leaves new beginnings for all of you. I hope yours are as good and fruitful as I hope mine is.

Life
by Brian Dean
Life is, life isn’t.
We grow, we wallow.
We crawl, stand, walk, and run.
We fall down, we get up.
We work toward our goals and reach them.
We fall short and gain knowledge and experience.
We live. We die. And we live again.
We find friends.
We find loved ones.
We sink to the depths of depravity.
We rise up on a high of joy and love.
We soar among the clouds.
We come back to earth.
We ride the rollercoaster.
We turn and we bank.
We follow the straight track.
We have our ups and downs,
Our ins and outs.
Our beginnings and endings.
And yes, our endings and beginnings.
As every time something ends, something begins.
Look forward to the change. Embrace it.
This is us constantly moving forward.

Brian is now doing readings to anyone that wants to sit for one for $50 for up to one hour. Keep in mind, these are mediumship readings, not psychic readings. If you have an interest, please contact Brian and something can be scheduled. These can also be scheduled from the website. For more information on readings, please go to the Mediumship tab on the website, and then you can see several articles about mediumship including what to expect, and what happens during a session. | |
