From the School Counselor,

Mrs. Glissman--

Don't miss internet safety expert Jesse Weinberger at Willis on October 3rd at 6pm!

I saw her speak several years ago at Dempsey and was blown away with how knowledgeable, relatable, and engaging she was. The research is more clear than ever that a proactive approach to internet safety can significantly impact our children's mental health and overall development. I highly recommend this presentation for parents of students K-12!

CLICK HERE for more information about this informative presentation.

The United Way is sponsoring a free Halloween Costume Giveaway on Monday, October 7th at the Willis Education Center. Supplies are limited.

STAY IN TOUCH! Make sure you are getting all the latest news by signing up for text messages from Mrs. Krell. A parent/guardian can receive text messages from the school by texting the word “YES” to 67587 from your cell phone. The cell phone number must be attached to your student in

 PowerSchool to be valid.

COMMUNITY INFORMATIONThe Delaware City Schools, in partnership with various community organizations, want to keep families aware of opportunities for students and families outside of the schools. Information is provided on our website by community organizations, and questions should be addressed to the respective organization. To have an opportunity or event listed, please contact Jen Ruhe at ruheje@delawarecityschools.net.

CLASS DOJO~Don't miss out on the latest information!

In an effort to streamline our grade levels across the building, we will be moving to the Class Dojo app this year for building and classroom communication. Look for building updates, photos and reminders from Mrs. Krell each week as each classroom is connected to the building. As a reminder, teachers are not permitted to communicate with families 1:1 through the communication app. You’ll need to communicate with your child’s teacher by email or phone. Be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher for how you can get connected with the school through Class Dojo!

Conger is having our annual Scholastic Book Fair, September 30 - October 10 in the Media Center. There will be over 3000 items available for sale. All students will have the opportunity to shop, with proceeds of sales benefitting Conger.

Check out the attached BOOKFAIR FLIER for details. Parents can preview the books available, set up a Book Fair e-wallet for their students to shop without having to carry cash, and shop an expanded, online selection. Happy Reading !!
