PTO declares a Pacer Penny War!

Join us for some friendly classroom competition while also supporting PTO.

Every classroom will have a money jar. We will also have the jars out at Party on the Playground to kick off the competition.

Where students choose to put their money will depend on what type of coins or bills they have. Pennies, quarters, $5, and $20 will earn positive points, which means they will want to put them in their own class jar. They can also give negative points to other classes by putting nickels, dimes, $1, and $10 in others' jars.

The class with the most POINTS will be the winner. Because of the negative points, it is possible that a class can have the most MONEY, but not be the overall points winner.

For more information, click on this information sheet, Penny Pacer Wars.

WEEKEND BAG

PROGRAM

Delaware City Schools is proud to partner with Delaware County People in Need to provide a small bag of shelf-stable food items to families on Fridays throughout the school year. This program is free of charge to families. If you are interested in being a recipient, please fill out this form.

CLASS DOJO~Don't miss out on the latest information!

In an effort to streamline our grade levels across the building, we will be moving to the Class Dojo app this year for building and classroom communication. Look for building updates, photos and reminders from Mrs. Krell each week as each classroom is connected to the building. As a reminder, teachers are not permitted to communicate with families 1:1 through the communication app. You’ll need to communicate with your child’s teacher by email or phone. Be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher for how you can get connected with the school through Class Dojo!

You may have heard your child talk about our new Pacer Period!

Pacer Period is a block of time during each grade level’s academic day in which students participate in intervention and enrichment groups.

Students may be pulled to a small group with a support teacher, stay in their homeroom classroom or go to another grade level teacher’s classroom for academic intervention or enrichment. This is a great opportunity to ask your child what they are learning during Pacer Period!

LUNCH BALANCES & CHARGING

This is a reminder regarding our district policy on lunch balances. Starting August 26, 2024, any student with a negative lunch balance of $15 or more will be served an alternate lunch.

To assist in managing this transition, the lunch cashier will be providing a letter to be sent home with each student. This letter will inform parents and guardians of their child's current lunch account status and any necessary actions.

You may add to your child's lunch account online at PaySchools.
