PASSWORD RESET

As previously communicated, PowerSchool – a cloud-based software vendor used by Delaware City Schools – recently experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain information in the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS). As a safety and security best practice, Delaware City Schools will be resetting student passwords. Our students in grades K-5 (preschool students are not affected) will all utilize Clever badges (QR code) at school and at home when needed. This password change will occur on February 17, 2025.  Students will receive their new badge on February 19, 2025

Passwords will not be stored in PowerSchool moving forward. If families experience any issues with Clever badge login at home, please contact your homeroom teacher and we will work with you to resolve technical issues. We appreciate your understanding and support while we make this transition and uphold a secure learning environment.

BREAKFAST WITH A BUDDY is next week! Please make sure to RSVP so PTO can plan accordingly. We would love for all of our students to have a breakfast buddy!

We are still in need of a few volunteers to make this event a success. If you can help out, please click on the SIGN UP GENIUS, thank you.

Attention All Inventors in Grades K - 5 !!

Parents, is your child a creative and innovative thinker? Does he/she enjoy a challenge and have strong problem solving skills? If so, Invention Convention might be the perfect extracurricular challenge.

Invention Convention is a fun program that encourages students to identify problems and create innovative solutions through invention. Students follow a structured process similar to design thinking or the engineering design process, which involves indentifying a problem, researching, brainstorming, prototyping, and testing. In addition, students develop entrepreneurial skills like pitching their ideas, marketing their inventions, and understanding the business aspects of innovation.

Overall, Invention Convention provides a valuable opportunity for all students to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities. It also helps students build confidence, improve communication skills, and prepare for future success.

Students can work alone or in teams of two. team members do not need to be in the same grade or in the same school.

The 2024-2025 Delaware City Schools Invention Convention will be held in person. Inventors must have a finished project (completed journal, prototype of invention, and display board) and be ready for the judging competition on Thursday, March 20th.
