Holiday Assistance

Is your family in need of holiday assistance? Or perhaps your family would like to help make the holiday more joyful for a family in need this season?

If you would like to sponsor a family or be considered for holiday assistance, please fill out the Holiday Helpers form linked HERE. Deadline for submission is November 8th.

Veterans Day is coming, November 11th.

We know Conger Elementary has a caring and generous community—now is our chance to show it! We are collecting cards from our students, that will be sent to local Veterans to thank them for their service.

The classroom that submits the most thank you cards will get the ultimate reward: the opportunity to color Mr. Eddy's hair any color they want! It's a fun way to add some extra motivation to this important cause.

In addition to the thank you cards, we're inviting you to send in photos of loved ones who are currently serving or have served in the armed forces. These photos will be displayed on a special Honor Wall in our school as a tribute to their bravery and commitment. Let’s fill this wall with pride and gratitude!

Let’s work together to make this Veterans Day one to remember. Submit your cards and photos by November 7th, and let's show our veterans just how much they mean to us!

Fall Party and Parade

We are excited to celebrate on Thursday, October 31st, with a Fall Character Parade and classroom parties!

Classroom teachers will share with you their plan for costumes. Some teachers may request that students bring costumes in their backpack to put on for the party and parade. Please do not include any accessories (toys or weapons), masks or face paint. Keep in mind that students who wear their costumes to school will be participating in recess and possibly gym class throughout the day so plan accordingly.

Classroom parties will begin in the afternoon. Teachers will send information through Dojo about treats and volunteering. Snacks should be limited to store bought items. Please check with your child's teacher about food allergies.

At 2:45, students will parade around the building and then outside on the playground. Families who would like to watch the parade are welcome to line the blacktop area of the playground beginning at 2:30. In the event of rain, we will share alternate plans for the event.

Students will NOT be dismissed from the playground during the parade. We will follow normal dismissal routines. Families that wish to pick up must do so through regular pick up procedures unless they are a classroom volunteer for the party.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Opportunities

Conger Elementary partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters to offer school-based support to our 3rd and 4th grade students! Students are matched with college volunteers from Ohio Wesleyan athletic programs, and these volunteers serve as friends and mentors, and some 3rd graders are able to work with SourcePoint volunteers, often working on many fun activities and projects together! Students meet with their “Big” here at Conger, typically on a weekly basis during lunch and/or recess, and they often continue meeting with them from year-to-year! If you would like to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, please visit bbbs.tfaforms.net/4841623 and click "school based" to register as soon as possible. Spots are limited and may fill up quickly!
