Crossways Connections
2017 May Issue
2017 Spring Appeal

Our theme this summer is The Water of Life: and we have plenty of activities around water on Long, Pine and Mission Lake.  Some of our favorite memories involve activities in and on these lakes: learning to swim or boat for the first time, campfires by the shore, a pontoon breakfast or the memorable Light Service.

As one camper who will now be on staff this summer expressed: “Water at camp reminds me of my baptism and a lot of fun we have at camp.  Camp is a home away from home where I can express my faith freely with a community of believers.”

Help us sustain these memories and experiences as we kick off the Spring Appeal.  Your support provides scholarships, program supplies, additional staff to expand our programs and site/facility improvements.  We invite you to help us reach our goal of $40,000 by the time our camp programs begin on June 11th.

Thank you for your consideration and support of our Mission “to bring people together in Christ so lives are changed and communities enhanced”.

In Christ’s Service,

Jake Czarnik-Neimeyer
Executive Director

Summer 2017 Program Highlight:
PIONEERS
3-day, 2-night Youth Camp for 1st-3rd Grade Youth
Has your son or daughter been itching to get to camp for an overnight program and now they're finally old enough? Are you hoping to introduce your young camper to the magic of camp but feel a half-week program is a better fit than the whole week? We have the program for you!

Our Pioneer program is classic youth camp for our youngest overnight youth campers (youth currently in 1st-3rd grade). Yes, 3rd grade youth are also eligible for our Pathfinders (full week and half week) program for 3rd-5th grade youth, especially if they have been to camp before and are seasoned veterans.

Pioneers is perfect for young campers who want to make new friends, play silly field games, play or swim safely at our waterfront, enjoy a cook-out over the fire, and experience being "independent" (while always safely supervised by our caring, competent staff). Camping with Crossways promotes self-confidence, helps to develop social skills, fosters empathy and compassion, and gives kids a greater understanding of their growing identity as a beloved child of God!
