Congratulations to the recipients of the Dress for Success Patient Care Technician Scholarship! These aspiring women began their educational journey on July 5th at the Academy of Nursing and Health Occupations (ANHO). A grant from the Quinn Foundation resulted in giving six women a full scholarship. The goal is to prepare these students to study the occupational professions of Home Health Aide, Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, as well as one allied health modules of the student’s choice. Choices include Rehab/Restorative Aide Skills, Phlebotomy skills, or EKG skills. This robust curriculum will also prepare the students to meet the State of Florida requirements. Today, more than ever, the health industry offers stable employment and the opportunity to grow and reach one’s fullest potential. These women have been resilient in facing challenges from homelessness to single parenting and more. They are now embarking on a journey not only to empower themselves to achieve economic independence but also to thrive both in work and in life.
