Greetings Our Dear Friends and Supporters,

I have great news as I write this letter, it is my first 30 days as the new Executive Director. I am excited and honored to join Dress for Success Palm Beaches. I think that my professional experience, which includes several C-level positions in the non-profit industry as well as serving on several nonprofit boards, has prepared me for this journey.

I have met so many supporters of this wonderful organization and already witnessed my first fundraiser, our Shop for Success Friends & Family Sale, which thanks to our staff and volunteers was a success and brought in almost $20,000. Hats off to a great team and great start!

I want to personally thank the staff, volunteers, donors, funders, board members, and supporters for your warm welcome. I also want to give a special thank you to Mary Hart, former Executive Director, for helping me transition into this position. Following in Mary's shoes will not be easy, but with the support, input, and participation from all of you, we can be assured that Dress for Success Palm Beaches will continue the path of great success.

I am looking forward to upholding the mission and educating the community on how we empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help them thrive at work and in life. We are planning our 2nd Annual Teacher Appreciation Week at our Belle Glade and Palm Springs boutiques. Our teachers are off for the summer and will begin their back-to-school shopping soon, and we want to be there for them.

Summer is officially upon us. A time that many of you take vacation or time off to spend with family and friends. We appreciate all that you do to help make a difference in the lives of the many women we serve. Stay safe, as we remain vigilant during these unpredictable times. As a nation we are facing violence all around us, COVID-19 on the rise again and economic hard times as a result of the pandemic. But as Robert Frost once said, he took the “Road Less Traveled and Made a Difference”. Many of our Dress for Success Palm Beach supporters, staff and volunteers take a road less traveled every day and make a difference, and for that we so appreciate you. 

Again, I want to thank the Dress for Success Board of Directors and search committee for this leadership opportunity.

Dear Valued Volunteers, Supporters and Community Members,
 
The Board of Directors welcomed new Executive Director Joe Ann Fletcher to Dress for Success Palm Beaches last month. Joe Ann is a well-known and respected figure among South Florida nonprofits with a career that spans more than two decades. She comes to us from HGH Education Foundation, a West Palm Beach philanthropy, where she was Vice President of Programs and Operations for the past 5 years. Prior to that she was CEO of St. Laurence Chapel Homeless Day Shelter in Pompano Beach. She has a proven track record in fundraising and community engagement and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards recognizing her dedication and contributions to improving the lives of others. We believe Joe Ann has the passion, experience and vision to lead our organization. Please be sure to join us in welcoming Joe Ann. 
 
We’d also like to thank everyone who joined us for our Shop for Success Friends and Family sale. It was a successful event in which we were able to raise additional funds for the organization.
 
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we thank you for continued support of Dress for Success Palm Beaches. We are able to help improve the lives of many women in our community because of your generosity.
