Transformative Agreements for Open Access Publishing

University Libraries strives to meet The University of Southern Mississippi's mission, vision, and values by offering opportunities for open access (OA) scholarship.

University Libraries participates in several transformative agreements (also called read and publish agreements), providing affiliated authors with the option to publish in gold and hybrid OA journals at no cost. We can remove article processing charges (APC) that are normally charged by publishers to publish OA.

For COA & GCRL sited researchers, the agreement with Elsevier may be worth investigating. Eleven (11) Elsevier journals included in the agreement are in the subject area of marine and freshwater biology: Aquacultural Engineering, Aquaculture, Aquatic Botany, Fisheries Research, Harmful Algae, Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, Limnologica, Marine Environmental Research, Marine Genomics, Marine Pollution Bulletin, and Regional Studies in Marine Science.

New Arrival

The Secret History of Sharks showcases a discovery of sharks’ largely unknown evolution. A team led by World-leading paleontologist John Long, embark on digs to all seven continents, investigating layers of rock while using cutting-edge technology to reveal new fossils and clues to sharks’ past.
