Martha Brown is a part time staff member at Gunter Library. She has worked at GCRL in various capacities for over 10 years including shipping and receiving and public information. She is married to Paul Beaugez, a GCRL retiree who served as captain of the R/V Tommy Munro and as port captain for 27 years.

Martha is a USM alum with a degree in Marketing. At Gunter Library she is responsible for producing the monthly e-newsletter; promoting and facilitating the Science Café; clipping daily newspaper articles about GCRL and local & national environmental and marine and coastal science topics; re-shelving books and journals; and assisting library users. Martha serves as back-up to the library’s busy document delivery service and is responsible for scanning materials requested by students, faculty, and staff.    Martha also works part time at the United MSD Foundation, a local non-profit, working on their database as well as fundraising events. She is currently busy helping to promote the current MSD fundraiser, the 3rd annual Zebra Run, a 5k and 1 mile fun run on front beach in Ocean Springs, February 29th.
