Resource of the Month

Eclipse Safety Glasses

Gunter Library has a limited supply of eclipse safety glasses provided by NASA. A total eclipse is coming on April 8th, 2024. According to NASA an “eclipse is an awe-inspiring celestial event that drastically changes the appearance of the two biggest objects we see in our sky: our Sun and Moon. On Earth, people can experience solar and lunar eclipses when Earth, the Moon, and the Sun line up. Safety is the number one priority when viewing a solar eclipse.” For more information:

New Arrivals!

Through a series of case studies, the book's authors and editors tackle a wide variety of subjects relating to conflict, from the challenges of problems and common pool resources, to the roles that storytelling and religion can play in conflict.

The Scholarly Communication Handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge required for understanding and navigating the scholarly communication landscape.

This book is the first ever written on English marine conservation regulation from a socio-legal perspective.

The ugly truth about dams is about to be revealed. Cracked: The Future of Dams in a Hot, Crazy World illustrates the history of water control -- its dams, diversions and canals, and just as importantly, the politics and power that evolved with them.

Beach Clean Up

MEGSA, Thalassas, and the Rotary Club of Ocean Springs joined together to hold the Alan Test Memorial Beach Clean Up on March 2nd at Front Beach, Ocean Springs. Mr. Test was a Rotarian and avid beach walker who made it a point to pick up trash on his walks. The beach cleanup volunteers spent two hours collecting trash. The trash was documented and weighed. Information about the trash collected was shared with the Mississippi Coastal Clean Up which maintains the data for beach clean up projects in the area.
