Resource of the Month

"CharityWatch serves only the interests of the donating public—donors just like you. CharityWatch's ratings do not merely repeat what a charity reports about itself in its "impact" reports or tax filings using simplistic or automated formulas. We dive deep into charity audited financial statements, tax filings, state solicitation filings, and other information so we can let you know how efficiently a charity will use your donations to fund the programs you want to support."

Time to Submit Your Book Recommendations

All faculty, students, and staff--now is the time to submit your recommendations for books to be purchased to support your teaching, research, and learning. Please include as much information as possible--author, title, date, publisher, etc. and indicate your preference for print or e-books. Please note there are some publisher restrictions with e-books including the number of pages you can download (usually 60 pages or less). If this will impede your use of the book, then be sure to indicate you are requesting print. We need your recommendations asap. Print books ordered for COA are housed at Gunter Library at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. Please email to: guntergcrl@usm.edu

Gunter Library Supports North Bay Civitan Gobble Wobble

Keith Wilson, USM alumni and North Bay Civitan Club President, with Graduate Assistant Office of Student Engagement Kristen Chachati, her helper and mother-in-law Kimberly Seymour, and a carload of donated food for the pantry.

Atlanti'a Lyles and Oliver Kuttner, two USM Gulf Coast alumni and North Bay Civitan Club members present two bags of food being donated to the USM Gulf Park Food Pantry.

Gunter Library partnered with the North Bay Civitan Club to support its food drive to restock the USM Gulf Park campus food pantry. On Saturday, November 18, nonperishable food was delivered to the 14th annual Gobble Wobble. The North Bay Civitan Club’s fun run and food collection event took place at the west end of the Biloxi Bay Bridge. Club members, volunteers, and fun run participants donated nearly 300 food items. This was the 7th year Gunter Library has hosted a collection box for this food drive.
