Jewish Art Education (JAE) is pleased to feature the following programs for April 2020.
At JAE, we are dedicated to bringing the best in the Jewish visual arts to the widest possible audience. Our mission is to educate the wider world on the contributions of the visual arts to Jewish civilization.

THE ART OF PASSOVER is a comprehensive look at the art and artistry associated with Judaism's favorite holiday. A one-hour fully narrated program of 55 art objects related to Passover. Art educator Myrna Teck, PhD, with traditional music, covers the work over the centuries, from 6th century painted walls, to modern seder plates and paintings. A wonderful way to start the holiday and bring a fresh approach to old traditions.

Our intellectually stimulating programs are a visual feast, interactive, lively, entertaining as well as educational. These one hour presentations are shown via PowerPoint, and we have a projector and screen if needed.
Mornings and afternoons are available for presentations. For first choice of dates, please contact us if you are interested in scheduling as they will fill up quickly.

Jewish-American Artists and WWII
provides an overview of painters, sculptors, print-makers, and photographers as they reacted to the events of World War II. The program looks at the works of artists who were born in America, emigrated, or found refuge here.

The Art of Reuven Rubin
(Part I -
Early Years
)
surveys the varied aesthetic styles and paintings of an artist who was influenced by the tenets of Modernism and created a native Israeli art.

The Art of the Sabbath
uses prints, paintings, photographs, greeting cards, and ritual objects (Sabbath lamps, candlesticks, kiddush cups, tablecloths) of many different media, to remember and guard the Sabbath in different times and places.

The Art of Reuven Rubin
(Part II - Middle Years)
surveys the varied aesthetic styles and paintings of an artist who was influenced by the tenets of Modernism and created a native Israeli art.

The Art of Modigliani
explores the remarkable life and artworks of this Italian-Sephardic Jewish artist.

The Art of Reuven Rubin
(Part III - Later Years)
surveys the varied aesthetic styles and paintings of an artist who was influenced by the tenets of Modernism and created a native Israeli art.

Jewish-American Photographers
focuses on the origins and development of photography by Jewish men and women practitioners from the 19th century forward. Their photographs reflect the conditions of their lives and that of the worldwide Jewish community.

The Art of the High Holidays
brings Rosh Hashonah (Head of the Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) to life through 1,500 years of Jewish art.

The Art of Pissarro
surveys the long and productive life and paintings of the “Father of Impressionism”.

includes woodcuts, etchings, illuminated manuscripts, paper-cuts, silver and wood etrog boxes, paintings, photographs and prints. It is a chronological and geographic overview of visual art objects and their symbolism related to Sukkot.

This two-part program looks at the influences (Papercuts, etc.) on the work of carvers in European synagogues who found work building animals for carousels when they came to “The Goldene Medina,” - America.
