Library and Recreation: The Heart of Our Community

For more than two decades, I have been dedicated to making Larkspur a place where families, friends and neighbors can come together. I have served for 18 years on the Larkspur Park and Recreation Commission, working alongside our Recreation Department to strengthen the programs, parks and public spaces that make our community special.

Over the years, I have been proud to support some of Larkspur’s most cherished traditions. For six years, I have worked with the Music in the Park concert series, bringing neighbors together for summer evenings filled with music and friendship. I have helped with Holiday Lights in the Park, the annual Pumpkin Patch at Piper Park and other family events that create lasting memories and build a genuine sense of community.

Now, with the new Library at The Commons open and the upcoming recreation building moving forward, Larkspur has an extraordinary opportunity to create the vibrant community hub we have long envisioned. These facilities should be more than buildings. They should be welcoming, active spaces for families, seniors, students, local organizations and residents of every generation.

As a member of the City Council, I will work to expand programming, community events and gathering opportunities while strengthening the connections among downtown, the library and our recreation facilities. Together, they can form a true civic center that reflects Larkspur’s character and values.

Recreation and community events are not simply amenities. They are where neighbors become friends, children grow up feeling connected to their hometown and residents discover a shared sense of belonging. My years of hands-on service to Larkspur have shown me what is possible when the City, local organizations, volunteers and residents work together.

Part of what inspired me to run for Larkspur City Council is to continue that work and ensure our library and recreation facilities remain at the heart of a welcoming, connected and thriving Larkspur for generations to come.
