HSF HONORED W.W. LAW WITH THE INSTALLATIONS OF HISTORIC MARKER AT HIS VICTORY DRIVE HOME


Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) unveiled a historic marker at the home of W.W. Law at 710 W. Victory Drive in Savannah on the morning on Tuesday, August 23. Westley Wallace Law purchased the house in the 1950s as a home for himself and his mother and lived there until his death in 2002. W.W. Law was Savannah’s crusader for justice and civil rights for African Americans.

GRAINGER HONDA/NISSAN CAR GIVEAWAY TO BENEFIT THE 200 CLUB


The 200 Club of the Coastal Empire is raffling off a new car to raise money for the organization. Tickets are now on sale for $100 each. Up to 1,000 tickets will be sold until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022. The winner will get to choose between a 2022 Nissan Rogue or a 2022 Honda CR-V donated by Bill Grainger and the Grainger Companies, who will also fully pay the sales tax on the vehicle.

HSF TO HOST JEFF FREEMAN IN THEIR SEPTEMBER SESSION OF 'PEOPLE, PLACES AND STORIES' LECTURE SERIES 


The Historic Savannah Foundation will host Jeff Freeman in their "People, Places and Stories" lecture series on September 15. Freeman will focus his lecture on Savannah in the Civil War.

LFPR APPOINTED TO WORK WITH GRAY'S REEF NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY FOUNDATION



LFPR is thrilled to have been appointed to work with Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary. Gray's Reef will host a ribbon cutting ceremony October 15 celebrating the 50th anniversary of national marine sanctuaries and NOAA’s new Ocean Discovery Center in Savannah. The Discovery Center is anticipated to publicly open in early 2023 and will offer free programs, activities, and opportunities for locals to get involved with Gray's Reef.

DAVENPORT HOUSE MUSEUM TO PRESENT 'THE SICKNESS IN THE CITY - YELLOW FEVER 1820'



The Davenport House Museum will present a living history depiction of early 19th-century life in Savannah, focusing on the Yellow Fever epidemic, on Friday and Saturday evenings in October. The performances will begin at 7 p.m. at the Davenport House Museum Entrance and Shop. Due to limited seating, guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
