SAVANNAH VOICE FESTIVAL PARTNERED WITH HISTORIC SAVANNAH FOUNDATION TO HOST ‘SONGS AND STORIES IN THE SQUARES’ 



Savannah VOICE Festival and Historic Savannah Foundation hosted a holiday installment of “Songs and Stories in the Squares,” on December 14. The event included presentations about the histories of Telfair and Ellis Squares and vocal arrangements by SVF.

SAVANNAH AFRICAN ART MUSEUM HOSTED MARKETPLACES LEADING UP TO KWANZAA


Savannah African Art Museum hosted special marketplaces every Friday leading up to Kwanzaa that started on December 2. Each marketplace included different vendors from the local and regional community that brought patrons unique cultural art and goods.

DAVENPORT HOUSE MUSEUM HOSTED ANNUAL HOLIDAY EVENING TOURS BY CANDLELIGHT


Davenport House Museum hosted its annual Holiday Evening Tours by Candlelight event which celebrated the coming of the New Year as it would have been observed 200 years ago. The family-friendly event featured costumed docents telling the story of early nineteenth-century holiday festivities. Light refreshments, music, and skilled interpreters were among the highlights of the presentation.

BUDDY WATCH TO HOST RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR FUTURE VETERAN HOMES - JAN. 18



Buddy Watch, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with the mission of building homes for veterans. They are launching a revolutionary new bird feeder to provide the funds for this housing initiative. On Jan. 18, the organization will host a ribbon cutting on five acres of land that has been donated by Buddy Watch, Inc.'s founder, Jo Coleman.

HISTORIC SAVANNAH FOUNDATION TO HOST “ATTINGHAM TRUST TRIP TO IRELAND" LECTURE - AN INSTALLMENT OF THE "PEOPLE, PLACES AND STORIES" SERIES


Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) will host Jamie Credle, Director of the Davenport House Museum, as the next presenter in their “People, Places and Stories that Define Savannah” lecture series at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 19 at Historic Savannah Foundation, located at 321 E. York Street. Jamie Credle was one of thirty global participants to be accepted into the Attingham Trust’s Study Program, “The Historic Houses of Ireland”, where attendees studied houses in Dublin, Kildare, and Wicklow and along the southern coast in Wexford, Waterford, and Cork.
