Diagnostic Imaging introduces state-of-the-art imaging

Phase one of the Diagnostic Imaging remodel is now complete. Our new advanced imaging suite combines state-of-the-art full-body general X-ray and fluoroscopy imaging, capable of generating live, moving images in real-time to help visualize, diagnose, and treat a variety of conditions.

The machine produces high-quality, safe, low-dose imaging, designed with patient comfort in mind. It features ambient lighting, music, and a voice system to guide patients through each step of the exam. It also features a table that changes positions to accommodate patients of all ages and sizes comfortably. These special features enable the technologist to position patients more quickly and comfortably, saving time and ensuring a smooth appointment process.

Capabilities will expand to include a state-of-the-art CT scanner and a new mammography system soon. Have a look!

MMHS Ranks Grade A with Lown Institute

The Lown Institute, a nationally recognized healthcare think tank, released its 2025–26 Hospital Index, a national independent ranking of the top-performing hospitals. This index, considered a benchmark in the healthcare industry, evaluates hospitals and recognizes leaders in the movement for socially responsible healthcare. Mee Memorial Healthcare System earned top marks across all major categories in this year’s ranking, continuing its strong performance seen in the 2024 and 2021 editions of the index.

Mee Memorial Healthcare System received an A grade in the following six key areas:

  • Value of Care
  • Patient Outcomes
  • Clinical Outcomes
  • Inclusivity
  • Social Responsibility
  • Cost Efficiency

The Lown Institute Hospital Index is the first independent ranking to evaluate hospitals based on social responsibility — incorporating health equity, value of care, and traditional clinical outcomes.

Founded in 1973 by Nobel Peace Prize winner Bernard Lown, MD, the Lown Index seeks to spotlight hospitals that provide exceptional, high-value patient care to everyone in their communities.

County Health Assessment - What happens next

In partnership with local hospitals and organizations dedicated to improving health, a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) was launched. Not-for-profit hospitals must complete a CHNA every three years and Health Departments must do one every five years. The data collection stage of our work is complete and the Collaborative will analyze survey results alongside other health data sources. The findings will be used to:

  • Develop CHNA to guide health initiatives for the next three years.
  • Strengthen collaboration between hospitals, public health agencies, and community organizations.
  • Implement targeted programs and interventions to improve health outcomes based on identified needs.

The final CHNA report will be made available to the public, ensuring transparency and continued community engagement in the process. Stay tuned for updates.

Kudos to the Skilled Nursing Team

Tell a friend! MMHS Skilled Nursing scored 5/5 nationally by US News & World Report. Nearly 15,000 nursing homes were evaluated throughout the country. Ratings were determined by nurse staffing, patient outcomes, and whether steps known to be effective in avoiding harm and improving health were built into nursing home routines. To be recognized, a home must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both.
