A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! We are excited to have your child at Maize South Elementary! We are home to the Wolves and leaders of the pack.
I am Mrs. Thrash, the principal. Mr. Chalashtari (Mr. C.) is our assistant principal. We are excited to begin another year and look forward to getting to know all of our new students while welcoming our returning students!
MSE has had a lot of changes over the summer. Our band and orchestra room was converted to a STEAM room (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math). Last year's Art and Science room were remodeled to welcome the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program and a new audiologist. Our gym floor was updated with a Wolf at center court. Sharing these updates and improvements with the kids these past few weeks has been FUN!
Although this year has begun with some restrictions and guidelines for safety, we are happy to have our kids back for in-person learning! Our teachers and staff have missed your children and are excited to have all of you return! We will continue to develop and plan creative ways to make this year memorable and fun.
Thank you to everyone for a wonderful start to the year!
Carrie Thrash

PARENT PICK UP / DROP OFF
Parent drop-off and pickup have been moved to the front of the building this year. During our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up events, parents are to remain in their vehicles throughout the process. At afternoon pick-up, all students will utilize our QR system. Parking and waiting outside the school for your student (s) will not be allowed.
Our focus and message each day to the Wolfpack is, "Be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!" We ask that you please help us model these attributes in our parent pick-up and drop-off line. Our goal is to keep the process safe, quick, and fair for all.
- Please stay in your vehicle during drop off and pick-up
- Have your child ready to exit the car as soon as you pull up to the sidewalk
- Exit slowly through the left lane when leaving the line
-
Do not pass other cars to better position yourself in the line
