Midweek Devotional
Pastor Kalina brings us our midweek devotional this week. May you be blessed through her words and prayers.

Note: These devotionals are uploaded
on the Open Door Churches YouTube page scheduled for Wednesdays each week.
This Week's Pastor's Blog
This week's blog is an important one as it was jointly penned by all of Open Door Churches' pastors as a response to the recent "Proud Boys" activities here in Salem.

Please read and share their response to this display of hatred and racism in our community.

Yard Angels - Update
Garden Party - Sat., October 31st
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Calling all Yard Angels!

Please excuse us. We changed the Yard Angel work day to October 31st. (Usually, Yard Work days are the first Sat. of the month.) Because……. November 1st, is the drive through Pledge Drive, at MUMC.

Morningside Members will be driving through the church property to drop off their Promise for Pledges for the coming year. For many of them, they have not been to Morningside Church since the quarantine began. We would like to have it looking nice for all those folks.

It looks pretty good now, we think just a bit of a touch up and we are all good. Of course, we can’t stop the leaves from falling, or the weeds from growing, but we can pick up wind-fall branches, trash left by visitors and make sure the plants are all trimmed and looking neat.

As you know, any time you can spare, half an hour, an hour or two….. We really plan that it will be our last big outdoor work day.
We promise camaraderie, getting together with friends, and treats. Come if you can, we love seeing you!

Thank you so much!

ALZ Walk Results - Tremendous Success!
Dear Friends,

Thanks to the generosity of Open Door Churches UMSK, especially Morningside UMC, and family and friends. TEAM DIANE surpassed our goal of $3,000 in the WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S.

We are the first ELITE GRAND CHAMPION - GREATER SALEM AREA of the Alzheimer's Association walk to end Alzheimer's. Congratulations to all of you. We are touched by your support.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's leading event to raise funds for awareness,
advocacy, support and research to fight Alzheimer's and Dementia disease.

We are very grateful for the support of TEAM DIANE during these difficult times, and for the first time we done it virtual! We hope we will be able to do the ninth Walk next year, 2021 and be able to come
together to take a beautiful TEAM DIANE picture with all the walkers.

Blessings to all of you!
