New Hope-Solebury schools and offices will be closed on Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents' Day.

| | Engineering II Students Bring Creativity Life Through Technology | | |
Our Engineering Level II students recently completed an impressive hands-on sign design project that highlighted both their creativity and technical skills.
Students began by developing their own concepts, determining the purpose, size, and design elements of each sign. They sketched their ideas and transformed them into digital designs, then created full-scale 3D models to explore materials and structure.
Next, students programmed CNC machines, selecting tools, speeds, and depths to bring their designs to life. For more detailed elements, they also used a laser cutter to achieve precise results.
This project gave students a true “full-circle” engineering experience—from idea to finished product—using industry-level software and equipment. The final signs look fantastic, and students were proud of their work and excited by what they accomplished. We are proud of their dedication and innovation and look forward to what they create next.
| | Middle School Lions 'Serve' Up Some Fun | | |
This week, our Middle School Lions took part in a fierce and fun volleyball competition in gym class, culminating in championship matches between the top two teams from each grade.
With strong serves, quick sets, and powerful spikes, students showed off their skills while working together and cheering each other on. The gym was buzzing with energy, teamwork, and school spirit as every point was earned with effort and enthusiasm.
From start to finish, students proved they could “dig” deep, play hard, and still show great sportsmanship. Way to ace it, Lions!
| | LES Celebrates Kindness Week | | |
Lower Elementary School recently celebrated Kindness Week with a variety of meaningful and fun activities that highlighted the importance of compassion, gratitude, and connection.
Throughout the week, students and staff showed their school spirit by wearing pink and red to represent kindness and friendship. Classrooms came together to decorate their doors with colorful messages and artwork that reflected positive values and thoughtful actions.
Students also took time to write thank-you notes, sharing appreciation with teachers, classmates, and staff members. These small gestures made a big impact and helped spread smiles throughout the building. In addition, buddy activities gave students opportunities to connect, build friendships, and reinforce the importance of supporting one another.

Our UES Lions are on the move—literally! Students have been having a great time learning how to rollerblade while also developing important skills in safety, confidence, and perseverance in PE class.
During these lessons, students are learning the basics of balance, coordination, and movement on wheels. Just as importantly, they are gaining a strong understanding of why safety comes first.
Through rollerblading, our UES Lions are learning that being active can be both fun and responsible. We are proud of their willingness to try new things, and we love seeing their excitement roll forward each day!

The New Hope-Solebury School District is beginning its 2027–2030 Comprehensive Planning process, and we invite our community to take part in shaping the future of our schools.
The Comprehensive Plan will guide our priorities, goals, and initiatives over the next three years as we continue our mission to empower all learners for a world of possibilities. To ensure this plan reflects the needs and perspectives of our students, families, staff, and community, we are seeking feedback on our strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
We encourage our community to take a few minutes to complete our brief survey to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Your responses will be reviewed by our District Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and will help guide discussions, goal-setting, and action planning throughout the process.
The survey is open now through March 6 and will close at 3:00 PM.

NHSD Seeks Professionals for Upcoming Career Fair

The New Hope-Solebury High School is currently seeking professionals to volunteer at our Career Fair on March 12. This annual event gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of careers, ask questions, and learn directly from experts in the field.
Volunteers will have the chance to share their career journeys, discuss what their roles involve, and offer insights and advice to help students consider their own future paths.
By participating, you can inspire and guide the next generation of Lions as they begin exploring potential careers.
If you are interested in volunteering or know someone who would like to participate, please complete the Career Fair Registration Form. Your expertise can make a meaningful impact on our students’ future readiness.

Lions Parent Classroom:
What Our Kids Need: a Parent Conversation on Youth and Mental Health
March 18
Parenting through life’s ups and downs from kindergarten to high school can be both rewarding and challenging. As part of our Lions Parent Classroom series, we are proud to support our families with an important conversation about youth and mental health. All guardians are invited to join us for NAMI’s Ending the Silence presentation, an open, honest, and supportive conversation designed for parents and caregivers of K–12 students.
Presented in partnership with NAMI of Bucks County, this program shares real-life stories, expert insight, and practical strategies to help you better understand and support your child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Participants will gain valuable tools and guidance on:
- Recognizing early warning signs of children beginning to struggle with mental health
- Understanding key facts and trends in youth mental health
- Starting meaningful conversations with children ages 5–18
- Partnering with school staff to support student success
Our featured speaker will be Mia Scocozzo, Youth Programs Director at NAMI of Bucks County. Members of the NHSD Student Support Services team will also be available for questions.
While these conversations can sometimes be difficult, they are essential. By coming together, asking questions, and learning from one another, we can help ensure every child feels heard, supported, and confident.
This Lions Parent Classroom event is free, but registration is requested.

Lions Support Eagles Autism Foundation
Shirt orders now through March 5
New Hope-Solebury School District is proud to raise autism awareness this spring as we team up to support the Eagles Autism Foundation.
April is Autism Acceptance Month, and we invite staff, students, and community members to show their support by purchasing a Lions Eagles Autism Foundation T-shirt and joining our efforts to raise funds for the NHSD Eagles Autism Challenge team. All shirts will be delivered before April, so students and staff can proudly wear them on Fridays throughout the month to show their support.

Boys Youth Lacrosse Clinic

The New Hope-Solebury High School Boys Lacrosse Team is excited to host a Boys Youth Lacrosse Clinic on February 19, 24, and 26. Boys across all levels in kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to enhance their learning, focusing on stick skills, agility, and shooting. Cost is $75 per player for four sessions or $20 per single session (Venmo @NH-SLAX or cash/check as a session). All proceeds benefit the high school team. Key Club Hosts Sock Drive

The High School Key Club is running a sock drive to support women in treatment for breast and ovarian cancers. Consider donating a pair (or two!) of comfy socks to help Unite for Her empower women going through treatment.

New Hope-Solebury Ed Fund Presents Hollywood Nights Auction and Fundraiser
February 20
The Ed Fund, in partnership with the MS PTG, is excited to announce that they will be hosting a district-wide NHSD Auction and Fundraiser on Friday, February 20 at the Logan Inn!
This fun, community-focused event gives parents a chance to come together for a night out and raise money to support programs and experiences for all NHSD students. Dinner, DJ, dancing, auction, and community will all come together to make for a night to remember!
