High School Spirit Week Roars with Lion Pride and Purpose

This year’s High School Spirit Week was an unforgettable celebration, powered by Blue and Gold Lion pride and centered around the theme of 'America'. From the Polar Pop Challenge and athletic tournaments to the upcycling challenge, food drive, coin collection, and hallway decorations, our students showed what it means to lead with heart.

Giving back was at the center of it all. Our Lions raised $960 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, $1,185 for Special Olympics (a 25% increase from last year!), and $1,224 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Students also collected 700 pairs of glasses for Lions Recycle for Sight. Then came Can Wars—where both teams broke records and shattered the school goal, collecting 31,581 pounds of food for Fisherman’s Mark and food banks across Bucks County!

The MANE Event, Family Feud, and closing games ceremony brought energy and excitement, showcasing Lion talent and teamwork. Our blue and gold teams both brought strong competition, with the Blue team bringing home the victory.

This year’s Spirit Week proved once again that when Lions come together, they don’t just show spirit—they make a difference.

Lions Celebrate Read Across America Week

Our elementary schools recently came alive with excitement as students celebrated Read Across America Week, embracing a week-long love of reading with creativity, laughter, and learning. With a special theme each day, students donned crazy hats, cozy pajamas, and storybook-inspired costumes, bringing the joy of reading to every corner of the school.

Throughout the week, students enjoyed engaging read-alouds, welcomed special guest readers, and participated in reading challenges designed to inspire curiosity and imagination. Older students shared their love of books by reading to younger students, creating meaningful connections and fostering a school-wide reading community. Additionally, some of our LES Lions had the opportunity to meet Mr. Tim Gilbert, author of Salty the Seagull: A Lesson from the Storm,, and learn more about the process in turning an idea into a book.



As Dr. Seuss famously said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” These words were evident in every hallway and classroom, where students explored new worlds, discovered new stories, and shared the excitement of reading with friends.

High-Energy Supermarket Sweep Supports Local Families

Students, law enforcement, and community leaders came together for a spirited Supermarket Sweep at GIANT in Logan Square, raising awareness of food insecurity and supporting Fisherman’s Mark. Teams, including New Hope-Solebury High School students, police officers, and board members, raced through the aisles working with assigned budgets and real-life household scenarios to select nutritious groceries.

The competition challenged participants to balance affordability with nutrition, while practicing teamwork, problem-solving, and financial literacy. Thanks to the generosity of GIANT, all groceries were donated to Fisherman’s Mark, totaling over $1,000 to help local families.

“This was an incredible opportunity for our students to better understand the realities some families face every day,” said Principal Patrick Sasse. “Through teamwork and friendly competition, they gained valuable insight into budgeting, empathy, and community service.”



The event highlighted the power of collaboration between schools, police, businesses, and nonprofits, showing that fun and meaningful action can make a real difference in the community.

APEX 10 Year Milestone Celebration

April 14

New Hope-Solebury High School is proud to celebrate the 10-year milestone of the APEX (Active Personal Educational eXperience) Program, an innovative senior capstone experience that empowers students to explore their passions through a self-directed project. Guided by a faculty advisor and driven by an essential question connected to their interests, the Senior APEX Project challenges students to demonstrate their learning, creativity, and personal growth.

All alumni, staff, families, APEX facilitators, and the community are invited to join us for the APEX 10-Year Celebration on April 14, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the High School Theatre Lobby. The evening will include a brief presentation on the program’s lasting impact, along with refreshments and opportunities to connect with students, alumni, and faculty.

Former APEX participants and facilitators are also invited to contribute a short message about their experience for a commemorative recap video by March 25. Please view the video submission instructions.

Doylestown YMCA to Host Jump Rope Mini Clinics

March 22 and April 1

Looking to learn to jump rope or improve your skills? The Doylestown YMCA is hosting jump rope mini clinics from the Zero Gravity Jump Rope Team. Cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members, and is appropriate for age 6 and up. To learn more and register, visit the YMCA website.

Lenape Chamber Ensemble Presents Concert in the Round

Shaving for a Cure: St. Baldrick’s Returns to NHSD

The annual St. Baldrick’s Fight to Cure Pediatric Cancer is returning to the New Hope-Solebury Upper Elementary School on Saturday, March 14. Community members are invited to get involved by helping raise funds, shaving their heads, or donating eight inches or more of hair in support of this important cause. Roxey Ballet Presents Journey Back to the Eighties

Roxey Ballet’s Journey Back to the 80s is a pop/rock music and dance extravaganza featuring top hits from the 80s played live or recorded by Doylestown, PA-based tribute band, GruvTyme. Phenomenal choreography and dancing by Roxey Ballet will take the audience back to the era of rock 'n roll, shoulder pads, and iconic music.

Nostalgic music paired with exciting choreography features songs including Flashdance, Jenny Jenny, Tainted Love, Walk Like an Egyptian, Billy Jean, Like A Prayer, Footloose, and many more. Mark Roxey’s choreography masterfully combines ballet, hip-hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, and social dances of the era that bring the audience to their feet, singing and dancing in the aisles.

Solebury Soccer Club to Host Tryouts

Solebury Soccer Club is officially calling all aspiring athletes for our upcoming tryouts!
