| | Lion Performers Shine in France | | |
Students from New Hope-Solebury’s band, orchestra, and choir recently experienced a once-in-a-lifetime journey to France, where music, history, and culture came together in an unforgettable way. Students traveled through Normandy and Paris, performing in remarkable settings while immersing themselves in some of the world’s most iconic landmarks.
Highlights included visits to Mont-Saint-Michel, the Normandy American Cemetery, and performances at historic sites such as Utah Beach and Église de la Madeleine. These moments allowed students to share their talents on an international stage while honoring history through music.
In addition to their performances, students explored world-renowned cultural destinations, including the Louvre Museum, Musée d’Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Versailles Castle, and Notre Dame Cathedral. The jazz band also performed at the historic Le Bal Blomet, further showcasing the depth and versatility of our music program.
Aligned with our Profile of a Graduate initiative, this immersive experience helped our Lions showcase their creative spirit, build confidence, strengthen friendships, and deepen their appreciation for global culture and history.
| | Small Hands, Big Thinking: Second Graders Dive into STEAM Engineering | | |
Our Littlest Lions are diving into the world of engineering through hands-on STEAM experiences that spark creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. Recently, our second graders proudly showcased their building projects, demonstrating how young learners can think like engineers and designers.
Working in teams, students used a variety of manipulatives to bring their ideas to life. Through thoughtful planning, problem-solving, and teamwork, they created imaginative designs—including custom-built cars and a unique panda habitat environment. Each project reflected their creativity and willingness to explore new solutions.
| | Voices of Experience: Professionals Share Career Insights with Students | | |
The High School's Career Pathways Speaker Series continued this week with three engaging guest professionals who shared their career journeys and insights with students. Students had the opportunity to choose which speaker session they attended, allowing them to explore paths that matched their personal interests.
Students learned about entrepreneurship and hospitality from Mr. Montu Patel, a business leader with experience in real estate and hotel development, gained insight into a creative career from Grammy-nominated cellist Michelle Djokic, and explored the world of cybersecurity with industry professional and professor Charles Sgrillo.
Through these interactive sessions, students were able to connect classroom learning to real-world careers, ask meaningful questions, and begin envisioning their own future pathways. The speaker series continues to inspire curiosity, confidence, and informed decision-making as students prepare for life beyond graduation.
| | Morning Magic: UES Students Power the Lions Den Show | | |
The Upper Elementary School’s Lions Den Morning Show is giving students a powerful voice while building real-world media and leadership skills. Featuring and produced by UES students under Mr. Peter Nelson's direction, the show features daily announcements, student and staff interviews, and school highlights that keep our UES Lions informed and connected.
Behind the scenes, students take the lead in every aspect of production. From managing video and sound to operating equipment and coordinating segments, the Lions Den team works collaboratively to deliver a polished and engaging broadcast each morning. These hands-on experiences allow students to develop confidence, creativity, communication, and technical skills.
Through the Lions Den, students are not only sharing important information—they are learning how to work as a team, solve problems, and take pride in producing something meaningful for their school community. This innovative program reflects our commitment to student leadership and authentic learning.

The New Hope-Solebury School District is beginning its 2027–2030 Comprehensive Planning process, and we invite our community to take part in shaping the future of our schools.
The Comprehensive Plan will guide our priorities, goals, and initiatives over the next three years as we continue our mission to empower all learners for a world of possibilities. To ensure this plan reflects the needs and perspectives of our students, families, staff, and community, we are seeking feedback on our strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
We encourage our community to take a few minutes to complete our brief survey to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Your responses will be reviewed by our District Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and will help guide discussions, goal-setting, and action planning throughout the process. The survey is open now through March 6 and will close at 3:00 PM.

February Monthly School Board Meeting
February 26
The February School Board meeting will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will take place both in person at the NHSD District Office, located at 180 West Bridge Street in New Hope, PA, and virtually via Zoom. The agenda and Zoom link will be made available in advance of the meeting.

National School Breakfast Week
March 2 - 6
Busy weekday mornings can make it challenging for many families to find time for a healthy breakfast. Fortunately, New Hope-Solebury School District offers FREE, nutritious school breakfasts each day, complete with fruit and low-fat or fat-free milk, to ensure students are fueled and ready to learn.
In addition, the district now offers Breakfast Snack Bags. These bags include a whole-grain snack, a low-fat protein item, and fresh fruit. Snack bags are free for students who do not select breakfast, and students who do eat breakfast may receive a snack bag for the cost of a second meal.
On March 2, we kick off National School Breakfast Week with this year’s theme, “The Quest for School Breakfast.” This celebration reminds our school community of the important role breakfast plays in helping students start their day strong.
Research shows that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to:
- Achieve higher levels in reading and math
- Perform better on standardized tests
- Improve concentration and memory
- Stay more alert throughout the day
- Maintain a healthy weight
Our Lions will be encouraged to show their enthusiasm for school breakfast throughout the week. School cafeterias will celebrate with special menus, activities, and other fun opportunities to highlight the benefits of starting each day with a nutritious meal.

NHSD Seeks Professionals for Upcoming Career Fair
March 12
The New Hope-Solebury High School is currently seeking professionals to volunteer at our Career Fair on March 12. This annual event gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of careers, ask questions, and learn directly from experts in the field.
Volunteers will have the chance to share their career journeys, discuss what their roles involve, and offer insights and advice to help students consider their own future paths.
By participating, you can inspire and guide the next generation of Lions as they begin exploring potential careers.
If you are interested in volunteering or know someone who would like to participate, please complete the Career Fair Registration Form. Your expertise can make a meaningful impact on our students’ future readiness.

Lions Support Eagles Autism Foundation
Shirt orders now through March 5
New Hope-Solebury School District is proud to raise autism awareness this spring as we team up to support the Eagles Autism Foundation.
April is Autism Acceptance Month, and we invite staff, students, and community members to show their support by purchasing a Lions Eagles Autism Foundation T-shirt and joining our efforts to raise funds for the NHSD Eagles Autism Challenge team. All shirts will be delivered before April, so students and staff can proudly wear them on Fridays throughout the month to show their support.

Boys Youth Lacrosse Clinic
February 24, 26
The New Hope-Solebury High School Boys Lacrosse Team is excited to host a Boys Youth Lacrosse Clinic on February 24 and 26. Boys across all levels in kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to enhance their learning, focusing on stick skills, agility, and shooting. Cost is $75 per player for four sessions or $20 per single session (Venmo @NH-SLAX or cash/check as a session). All proceeds benefit the high school team. Roxey Ballet Presents Journey Back to the Eighties
March 31
Roxey Ballet’s Journey Back to the 80s is a pop/rock music and dance extravaganza featuring top hits from the 80s played live or recorded by Doylestown, PA-based tribute band, GruvTyme. Phenomenal choreography and dancing by Roxey Ballet will take the audience back to the era of rock 'n roll, shoulder pads, and iconic music.
Nostalgic music paired with exciting choreography features songs including Flashdance, Jenny Jenny, Tainted Love, Walk Like an Egyptian, Billy Jean, Like A Prayer, Footloose, and many more. Mark Roxey’s choreography masterfully combines ballet, hip-hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, and social dances of the era that bring the audience to their feet, singing and dancing in the aisles.
