We've got a great roundup following our Wild Wild West Field Day. See a series of school scenes, highlights from Strong Bodies, Strong Minds, our APEX program, Lions Athletics, and more community happenings below.

Field Day in the Wild Wild West

It was a Field Day for the books, partners! The students journeyed to the Wild Wild West for this year's Field Day, starting off with a performance of our national anthem from the UES "Naturals" chorus and a round of country line-dancing led by Sheriff DiTulio. The kids then enjoyed an afternoon of games, tossing rings around cattle, giant inflatables, and trying to hold on to the mechanical bull. It was so much fun, that the Fire Department joined us for an end-of-day cool down with the fire hose. Our sincere thanks to the parent/guardian volunteers, to the Home and School Association for their time and the special treats they provided, and to our own Mr. DiTulio, who always makes this such a memorable experience for the kids.

Strong Bodies, Strong Minds

While we were building strong bodies in preparation for Field Day, we were also encouraging the development of strong minds with our Book Fair at the Lahaska Book Shop. There were guest readers, raffle prizes, an appearance from the NHS Lion, and many families that visited to buy books, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the addition of new materials into our school libraries. A big thank you to Librarian Mrs. Whyte for organizing the event.

Scenes from the Week

Students at the UES explored our Profile of a Graduate by illustrating the qualities and skills they are developing as an NHSD student. Here are some of the excellent visuals created in Mrs. DiTulio's fifth grade class.

To support No Place 4 Hate, students participated in a lesson with school counselor Mr. Smith focused on ways to be an ally for someone who may be a target of bullying and the importance of getting to know each other.

Our High School Gender Sexuality Alliance Club braved the rain and marched in the New Hope-Lambertville Pride Parade last weekend.

The New Hope-Solebury Education Fund and Home and School Association hosted a fun afternoon with a hilarious Mario the Maker Magician. Thanks to all who came to support these organizations.

APEX is Underway

Our seniors are currently engaged in capstone work-learning experiences (APEX) to prepare them for their next steps after graduation. Above, students are shown helping with historical reenactments at Washington Crossing State Park and exploring the different facets of marketing with Imbue Creative.

Lions Athletics Update

Our Track and Field Team is currently competing in the PIAA State Championships at Shippensburg. Best wishes to our athletes: Skylar High, Ruby Keddie, Nina Meixler, Naava Richlin, Lauren Trenti, Lillian Stark, Marco DeMeo, Aidan Ferraez, and alternate Nora Eneva

The Levittown-Bristol Kiwanis Club recognized senior student-athletes Mia Chuma and Nate Wiseman with their Scholar-Athlete Awards for excellence in both academics and athletics and for their commitment to community service.
