#NHSD Weekly eNews

Volume 26 | March 13, 2023

This week's eNews recaps exciting recent events and performances, including our Stadium Soiree, Mask and Zany's Mean Girls, the LES Dance, and our Lions Girls' Basketball team's recent victory to earn a place in Round 2 of the State playoffs.

A Successful Soiree!

On Thursday, March 9, we hosted a Stadium Soiree gala fundraiser with generous support from River House at Odette's. Over 230 guests attended the sold-out event, which raised over $105,000 for our stadium project. The Soiree offered an opportunity to recognize the tremendous leadership donation we received from Carl Hj. Asplundh, Jr., which helped make our stadium vision a reality. During the event, internationally-recognized artist Gordon Haas presented Mr. Asplundh with one of his signature giclees of our future fieldhouse. We are grateful to all who supported this incredible event. Stay tuned for more photos!

Mask and Zany presents Mean Girls

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Mask and Zany Theater Club for a fantastic production of the musical Mean Girls. Under the direction of Ms. Pittner, this show was lively and energetic with great choreography and musical performances. Special thanks to Mr. Howell for leading impressive tech work from the booth and to Mr. Bachart for directing the pit orchestra.

Grooving at the LES!

Our Littlest Lions had a great time grooving at their 1970s-themed dance, and they did an excellent job dressing the part. Thank you to the Home and School Association for facilitating such a wonderful night for our students.

Thank you, Giant!

For the past two months, community members have had an opportunity to round up at the register at Giant Food Stores to support their local school's food service program. We are grateful to Giant for their "Feeding School Kids" program which helped raise over $7,000 for our district this year. Members of the Giant team recently visited to present the donation check to the NHS food service team.
