Adult Faith Formation:
Manna and Mercy
|
Starting This Sunday, Nov 3 at 9am, Lindsay will be leading a group studying the book
Manna and Mercy,
which presents the history and storyline of the Bible. Our hope is that this will give us all a chance to deepen our understanding of the Bible, and to piece together some of the stories we know (does Daniel in the lion's den happen before or after Noah and the Ark? Who are all those prophets? Why are there four gospels instead of just one?) Books will be available for purchase on the 3rd. If you're interested in the book, but 9am doesn't work for you, let Lindsay know at
[email protected]
.
The Group will meet in Parish Hall.

Marblehead Food Pantry Collection
|
As we have done for many years, ONC has made a commitment to fill the shelves of the Marblehead Food Pantry during the month of November. During this month of Thanksgiving, it is a wonderful opportunity for us to show how thankful we are for the blessings we have been given and for us to make sure that others in the community, many of whom are less fortunate, will also be provided for. At each of the Sunday services, brown bags will be available with a list of suggested items to fill the bags. Filled bags may be returned to the Narthex, or if it is more convenient, left in the hall way at Stacey Street. The Outreach Ministry Board will be responsible for delivering the bags to the Marblehead Food Pantry. Suggested items: canned fruit and vegetables, canned/bottled/packaged fruit juices, coffee, tea bags, canned/bottled nuts, pasta, rice, pastasauce/mixes, soups, gravy, canned tuna/ chicken, salad dressings, crackers, cookies, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, soaps, laundry & personal items, diapers, shaving equipment, toothpaste/brushes, deodorant. Any non-perishable items are always appreciated. If you have any questions please contact Lynda Hare at 781 639 0107 or
[email protected]
. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Lynda Hare on behalf of the Outreach Ministry Board.

Pastor-Parish Relations Committee for Lindsay Popperson
|
The Leadership Board has now established a Pastor-Parish Relations Committee for our Designated Term Pastor, Lindsay Popperson. The primary function of the PPRC is to support and maintain an open relationship between the congregation and the ordained, settled clergy of Old North Church. The committee's focus is not so much on the “work” of the church as on the “workings” of it. They are charged with maintaining a healthy and productive relationship between congregants and the clergy which will enable the tasks of ministry to be carried out faithfully and joyfully, with a maximum level of satisfaction and understanding, and a minimum level of friction and stress. As such, their role is to listen objectively to the hopes, dreams, and concerns of the congregation AND the clergy with the goal of facilitating open, honest communication in both directions. Our thanks to Mimi Hollister, Else Wiersma and Frank Arren for agreeing to serve. As you may recall, Dennis’ Committee members are Lynda Hare, Susan Stone, Holly Jannell and Rob Gorman. If you would like to contact any member of either committee, their contact information is:
