POAH and local nonprofit break ground for future affordable housing, arts spaces in historic bank building

BOSTON, MA – Massachusetts Deputy Secretary for the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Jennifer Maddox joined Boston housing officials, elected officials, funders and supporters at a groundbreaking for Columbia Crossing, a mixed-use, transit-oriented development with affordable housing built to Passive House standards and community spaces to be offered to local artists and for art exhibitions.

Finance closing to renovate POAH's first property in North Carolina kicks off construction

RALEIGH, N.C.- The closing on financing for Biltmore Hills will enable the renovation of 50 income-restricted affordable homes near Raleigh’s downtown. The rental duplex family units will be available to tenants at a range of income levels from 20% to 60% AMI, and will meet the needs of families already living at the site and in the surrounding area.

DC officials, Housing Authority join POAH to break ground on the third phase of a multi-year redevelopment in Anacostia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Deputy Mayor’s Office for Planning and Economic Development and the District of Columbia Housing Authority joined POAH and Barry Farm community members at a groundbreaking for the 90-unit, fully affordable Hillsdale Flats Phase I, the third new construction property in the multi-phase redevelopment of the Barry Farm-Hillsdale community in DC’s historic Anacostia neighborhood.

POAH's all-women team creates multi-phase redevelopment in downtown Boston

Flat 9 at Whittier and The Amp at Flat 9 Whittier is one of POAH's most celebrated redevelopment projects. This all-women team oversaw everything from the ground up - from demolition to three phases of construction, to the installation of beautiful amenities. Today, the former public housing project is a model for thoughtful design and attention to detail. And at the heart of all it, was the mission to create a welcoming, supportive environment for the 677 residents who would be relocated here or find a new home here.
