US Rep. Keating joins state/local official, partners and residents to cut ribbon at Cape Cod housing



BOURNE, MA -The three-story Cape View Way development is a partnership between Preservation of Affordable Housing and Housing Assistance (HA) that offers a mix of one- two- and three-bedroom apartments. Three apartments are fully handicapped-accessible and a fourth accessible to sensory-impaired residents. The building was designed to Passive House energy efficiency standards, another of POAH's continuing efforts to build sustainable housing on Cape Cod. "The urgency of the Cape's housing crisis is demonstrated by the lottery for renters at Cape View Way, which drew over 900 applicants," said HA CEO Alisa Magnotta.

US Rep. Davis and Mayor Johnson join POAH and KMW Communities for groundbreaking of The Ave


Chicago Mayor Brandon JohnsonPreservation of Affordable Housing and partner, KMW Communities, kicked off construction for The Ave., a 52-unit mixed-use affordable housing development in the northwest side Humboldt Park neighborhood last month. Following two years of community engagement, design and financing, the development will bring vitality to an underinvested stretch of Chicago Ave.

 US Rep. Neal joins POAH and Mass. Broadband Institute to launch high speed internet access


Springfield, MA - The Healey-Driscoll administration and Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s (MassTech) Massachusetts Broadband Institute joined POAH and Bay Meadow residents to celebrate the delivery of high-speed internet to the property. The project is funded through the Residential Retrofit Program, a statewide initiative to upgrade broadband infrastructure in public and affordable housing properties and the U.S. Treasury Capital Project Fund. POAH POAH is advancing free/low cost internet at more than 50 properties nationwide including at 1,477 households in 13 Massachusetts municipalities currently participating in the Residential Retrofit Program.

The Asberry gets Passive House Institute US certification


The mixed-use building with 108 affordable apartments received Passive House Institute US certification, a rigorous standard of energy efficiency in construction that reduces carbon emissions and creates comfortable indoor living spaces. The Asberry is one of 10 POAH developments that has been certified or pre-certified nationwide.
