POAH breaks ground on transit-oriented, sustainable development on former parking lot

POAH has released a “virtual groundbreaking” video for The Loop at Mattapan Station, an innovative transit-oriented, mixed-use development that will create 135 units of housing, retail shops, and community spaces in the Mattapan Square neighborhood of Boston.

POAH's two senior-focused buildings protect affordability in changing Chicago neighborhoods

POAH recently acquired Levy House Apartments, a 57-unit building for seniors in Rogers Park on the far north side and closed on financing to renovate and extend the affordability at Father Martin Farrell House Apartments in East Woodlawn located within walking distance of Jackson Park and the Obama Presidential Center.

Federal Housing Policy:

POAH outlines its housing policy recommendations for Congress and the Biden administration

In 2021, POAH calls on Congress to expand housing resources for COVID-19 response; strengthen the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit; expand funding for project-based Section 8; support broadband access for HUD-assisted households; and support resident success in HUD-assisted properties. POAH also suggests short-term administrative actions the new leadership at HUD can take without the need for legislation.

POAH is poised to close on a second stage tax credit recapitalization in February for two senior communities in Narragansett, Rhode Island thanks to tax exempt bonds being issued this week by Rhode Island Housing.
