Chicago Mayor Joins POAH to Celebrate Opening of Innovative Housing Development on West Side

Fifth City Commons is one of Chicago’s first and largest Passive Housing buildings

CHICAGO - Fifth City Commons features 43 mixed-income apartments and 4,500 square feet of commercial space, plus resident amenities and extensive measures to maximize energy efficiency.

“With the opening of Fifth City Commons we have reached an incredible milestone in the creation of more affordable housing options for residents,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “This development will not only create safe, affordable, and sustainable housing, but it will help to revitalize and bring business opportunities to the East Garfield Park community.

POAH also announced that it has closed on financing for $27 million in renovations already underway at its Heart of Uptown Apartments comprising 103 apartments across five properties in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago.

Miami: Meridian Point


Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava was the featured speaker at the opening of Meridian Point at Goulds Station - a seven-story, 80-unit mid-rise and a three-story, 33-unit garden-style building in Miami. A $40 million HUD Choice Neighborhood Initiative grant is funding the Goulds neighborhood transformation.

Clinton Peabody to be redeveloped


The Missouri Housing Development Commission has awarded POAH nearly $3.5M in a combination of federal and state Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Missouri Affordable Housing Assistance Program tax credits plus $3M in federal funding to begin construction on the redevelopment of Clinton-Peabody, one of St. Louis' original public housing developments. POAH will redevelop Boston Public Library West End branch and create housing on top


POAH and Caste Capital, LLC have begun the process for the redevelopment of the West End Library and creation of affordable housing. The project will replace the existing West End Branch of the Boston Public Library with a new mixed-use building of featuring a 12-story residential building on top of a two-story public library.
