What is Cybersecurity Awareness Month?
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) has officially begun. Now in its 17th year, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) continues to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity to ensuring that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. This initiative is a collaboration between the US Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance.

Industry Advisory Board Member Allen Carlson
Brings Manufacturing Expertise to the Project
Allen Carlson brings a wealth of experience to the Industry Advisory Board for Preparing Technicians for the Future of Work with four decades of extensive senior management and leadership experience at global manufacturing fluid-power and motion-control companies. He spent 20 years with Sun Hydraulics, the last 16 years as President and CEO. During this time, Sun transitioned from a privately held company to a public company. As a public company, revenue grew from $50M to $225M and with a market cap from $50m to $1.2B. Prior to joining Sun Hydraulics, Carlson served in various engineering, product management and sales assignments for Vickers (Trinova), Incorporated. Carlson joined the University of Florida’s College of Engineering in May 2016 to launch and grow UF’s Sarasota Innovation Station, an economic development and engineering education initiative. Webinar Provides Presenters Accessibility Training
On September 2nd, the webinar "Creating More Accessible Presentations" was held in preparation for the upcoming National Careers Pathways Conference. The session was geared for NCPN presenters and provided information and best practices for optimizing the conference experience for all participants. Presenters were outfitted with a number of guides, tips, and tools for inclusivity and safeguarding compliance.

The panel of experts included Rachael Bower - NSF ATE Central, Donna Lange - NSF DeafTEC, Mike Sauter - Saddleback College, and Madeleine Rothberg - National Center for Accessible Media. It was organized by Shelia Wilson, NCPN Conference Manager.
