We are expecting a dusting of snow tomorrow morning, so while the thought of winter is in the air, I wanted to provide some timely information.
First, please ensure you are registered for K12 Alerts. I will use K12 Alerts to notify you of any delays, cancellations, early dismissals and/or use of a remote instruction day. In any of these situations, I will always try to provide as much advance notice to you as possible.
Second, the PUFSD 2024-25 school calendar was built to allow for two emergency closure days without using any scheduled days off. I would like to use the emergency closure days when the situation is unexpected. These may happen at any time of the year for a variety of reasons such as an unexpected weather event or we are unable to access the school buildings due to a water, gas, heating and/or electrical issue that is unforeseen. While traditional closures due to snow may still be used, remote instruction offers an alternative when in-person learning is not feasible and there is an anticipated event such as a predicted weather event. I will try to provide advance notice of the potential for a remote instruction day during the school day before and then make the decision as soon as possible that evening or very early morning.
Information about a remote instruction day is on our website. This instructional option not only helps us meet state-required instructional hours but also ensures a seamless learning experience for our students. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to maintain a safe and effective educational environment.
For the youth,
Dr. DeSa
