STEM Parent Academic Survey and School Operations Survey As we continue to focus on further improving our school, we look to the STEM families for feedback. We are asking for feedback related to the teaching staff, curriculum, school culture, parent engagement, and have added a specific area related to our recently implemented remote learning.  Please take a couple of minutes to complete the  STEM Parent Academic Survey (please complete one per student) and the School Operations Survey (please complete one per family) regarding the 2019-20 school year.  We greatly value your feedback. As an organization we are committed to ongoing improvement in all facets of our school to better serve our students. Update on Volunteer Hours We want to thank you all for both the time, and donated items you provided for our school this year. So many things would not have been the success they were without your help. With us being in this new "virtual" situation, please know that we will freeze the volunteer requirement now, and no one is expected to volunteer for the rest of the year. If you still have time to log from previous events, please do this by the end of this month. We will be honored to share the list of volunteers that had already completed their volunteer hours. SAC is is looking for interested families to join for the 2020-21 school year. Click here to view the SAC Interest Flier . iReady Assessments Information Students have been completing the iReady Diagnostic assessment within language arts and math classes during this week and through May 15th. The information gathered from this assessment will assist staff in identifying gaps in learning and areas of acceleration as we plan for the upcoming school year. Since this assessment is administered at home, please support your student in completing the assessment on their own to the best of their ability in order to allow for an accurate picture of student needs. Please do not spend an enormous amount of time on this task, an hour is the average. If you would like a copy of your student's results, please complete the following FORM and it will be emailed to you.

SHARING OUR GOOD NEWS

Kindly App Launch As part of eCybermission STEM-in-Action grant , "Kindly" an anti-cyber-bullying solution was launched virtually which was attended by several students and organizations nationwide including Forbes Ignite, UNICEF, Children's Kindness Network board members and students from 10 different states, some of whom were featured in Disney's Marvel Hero episode. A demo of the solution was shown and a partnership with Children's Kindness Network was established in addition to opening up a challenge for crowd-sourcing and empowering students to code. The implementation steps started in Aug 2019 and about 500-600 hours were spent in addition to promotion, awareness, and planning for the launch event. Kudos to the team and their advisor. Great job!

FBLA Virtual State Conference Winner FBLA Virtual State Conference was held in late April and the results are in! Junior, Tyler Connelly, took 1st place in Accounting! This is a huge honor. Mrs. Doe, STEM's business teacher and FBLA advisor is very proud of him as it is one of the hardest exams in the competitive events category. To see more DECA and FBLA news please follow our instagram page @stem_business.
