Reminder! All Visitors, Including Parents Must be Badged

Any visitor (including parents) must be badged in at either the Elementary School or Middle School Offices between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Admittance is not allowed through the High School Office.

Also, teacher office hours are for students only. Parents that wish to speak to teachers must schedule an appointment in advance. Thank you for respecting the safety of our staff and students, as well as our teacher's time.

STEM Town Hall Rescheduled to January 30

Rescheduling will allow everyone to complete the semester, get through the holidays and help us to gain the best feedback for our strategic plan.

Week-long Immersion Opportunity for 9-12 grade students

An exciting opportunity is available for students in grades 9-12 to have a fully-immersive experience into the space industry as Lockheed Martin and the Space Foundation have teamed up to create the Jr. Space Entrepreneur Program. Sixty STEM students will have the opportunity to take part in a week-long program from January 13-17.

Wishing a Warm and Restful Winter Break

The energy in the school this week has been tremendous as students complete their PBLs, present to expert panels, finish finals and think about their break from the rigors of school.

Monday evening was a celebration of art and music throughout our school and this morning our elementary students got to learn about Holiday traditions from around the world from some of our very own STEM parents.

Thursday our faculty and staff will have their annual holiday party and will have the opportunity to dance, dine and celebrate with their spouse/significant other and their work family. Our staff puts in a lot of hours throughout the school year and I am looking forward to watching them have some fun.

Our faculty will post grades on Friday (available after 5 p.m.) before they depart on their much-needed break. We wish you and your family a peaceful and restorative winter break and will see you back on January 7.

End of Semester Grades Reminder

The 2019-20 Fall Semester is coming to a close. Teachers will be posting grades to the report cards on Friday, Dec. 20. Report cards will be available for viewing in the Parent Portal after 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. Transcripts will not be updated to reflect weighted grades or additional credit for CE courses until January. Enjoy your break.

Kelly Farmer Melchior is our Volunteer of the Month for December for all her work on the Santa Gift Card Program. STEM's Got Talent Auditions Coming Up on February 6

Come audition for our Eighth Annual Stem's Got Talent show on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 3-6 p.m. in Middle School Music Room (Room 149).

We are looking forward to Winter Break

Winter break is upon us! It is important for all of us to take time to rest and recharge this break. Taking a pause from the hustle and bustle reduces stress and allows us to be our best when the school year starts again in January.

This break, I encourage you to give your students time to recharge. We also encourage our staff to take time for themselves.

Please understand that we have asked teachers and staff to take time away from work so that we can return recharged. We will be back in the offices and classrooms starting on Monday, Jan. 6, preparing for the first day of school on January 7.

I wish our entire #STEMSTRONG community a restful and happy Winter Break and I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year!

What to help raise money for STEM?

The Foundation for DCS has exciting upcoming community events for our STEM School Highlands Ranch Community. There are great discounted tickets to see the Nuggets (3 options!), National Western Stock Show events, the Mammoth (2 options!) and the Avalanche (2 options!). With every ticket purchase, we get a percentage of the proceeds. Thanks to your help and support, we are breaking ticket sale orders for all events so far this year!
