CoBots at WPI
On a cold Wednesday in January, a group of 7th and 8th grade students attended the first of eight Robotics sessions at WPI. The program is focusing on Collaborative Robots and how they are used in real world manufacturing. The “CoBots” focus will give students practice in group work and the design process. In these WPI sessions, they work closely with WPI faculty and student instructors to learn how to program, setup, and use some of the newest robots in industry today. The Northbridge students along with their teacher, Mrs. Gogolinski, look forward to working in WPI’s state of the art manufacturing laboratories. Each week, we will be exposed to tools such as 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, and Precision Computer Controlled Machines to make cool stuff to take home.
