Spring UTO Sunday This Sunday
Do you know that the United Thank Offering, also known as the UTO, is a vital ministry of the Episcopal Church? Through this offering, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in the UTO have discovered that thankfulness leads to generosity. UTO Ingatherings are held in the Spring and Fall of each year. On those designated dates, people can bring their thank offerings to be collected and joined with others’ offerings in blue boxes, envelopes, or checks. This Spring our Ingathering date will be Sunday, May 19. If you don’t already have a blue box for coins or blue and white envelope for bills or checks, you can get them in the window sills of Chisholm Trail or the Cathedral pews on Ingathering Sunday. There will also be envelopes and boxes placed at the inside entrance in Keenan Chapel . Where does the collected money go? It is sent to the UTO Office in New York City where the UTO Committee makes charitable grants each Spring in areas of compelling human need on a local, national, and international level. Please give generously so that others less fortunate can benefit from our thankfulness and love . Any additional questions about UTO? Email Louise Taylor at lmtaylor60@gmail.com.
