When Love Reaches Out - Rev. DL. Helfer
Our congregation will join other Unitarian Universalist congregations throughout the world to begin a commitment to the UUA's "Thirty Days of Love" campaign. Let us begin this year with love!
Form a new habit for the new year
Many of us make a resolution in January to break a bad habit and form a new one. Here’s a new habit that’s easy to remember: Every time you shop for groceries, pick up a can of spaghetti sauce, a box of instant mashed potatoes, or a jar of peanut butter for the Jonnycake Center’s food pantry. Put them in the collection box in the church foyer and they’ll be delivered. Happy new year!
GAYT ends on Sunday, January 12
The Guest at Your Table fundraising campaign ends on Sunday, January 12. Please return your box or envelope to Mary Fulton. If you won’t be at church on Sunday, you can deliver your donations to the church office. Our contributions will be sent to the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee on January 31.
"The Work That Reconnects"
“The Work that Reconnects” is a workshop designed to help us face and feel our deepest, most healing responses to the world’s crises in a supportive group environment. Jim Tull and Karina Lutz are the presenters. The workshop, on Saturday, January 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., is sponsored by UUCSC and R.I. Interfaith Power & Light. To register, open this link.
Weekly yoga classes begin Monday
Weekly classes in Kundalini yoga, sponsored by the Wellness Team, begin on Monday, January 13. The classes, led by certified instructor Cheryl Hinkson, will take place every Monday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the RE area. The fee for each January class is $10. Starting in February, each monthly series is $40 and drop-in classes are $13 each. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, blanket or sweatshirt, and a cushion. Beginners are welcome. Questions? Call Adria Evans at 667-7167.
