100 Years of Suffrage
This August, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the passage of 19th Amendment. In August 1920, decades of struggle and protest by courageous suffragists nationwide resulted in ratification of the amendment. Equality and justice for all is hard won, but not done; there still is much work to do. Read our statement on the anniversary HERE.

Maryland Appellate Case
In State v. Morrison, the Maryland Court of Appeals looked at involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment convictions against a Baltimore mother who co-slept with her infant and unintentionally killed the child by sleeping on her. The mother appealed and the Court of Special Appeals reversed the conviction. The State then appealed, and when the case came before the Court of Appeals, the WLC submitted an amicus brief highlighting the racial, socioeconomic, and gender-based biases underlying judgments regarding co-sleeping and parenting decisions in general. For more information and to read the full opinion and WLC's amicus brief, visit HERE.
