Fiscal Year 2025 Budget

The annual budget for the City of College Park has been officially approved. The budget reflects our commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents and ensuring the sustainable growth and development of our community.

This year, the council is proud to highlight that the budget includes $3.8 million in direct community enhancements, marking the first time in our city's 133-year history that such a significant investment has been made.

The following key highlights are specific to Ward 3 or was sponsored for the entire city by Councilwoman Arnold:

  • Infrastructure Improvements:
  • Installation of four flashing crosswalks on Godby Road.
  • Public Safety:
  • Increased capital outlay funding for our police, fire, and emergency services to enhance community safety.
  • Community, Senior and Youth Programs:
  • Expanded support for community, senior and youth academic extension programs to foster educational enrichment opportunities.
  • Parks and Recreation:
  • Development of a new park on Godby Road.
  • Renovations to the Tracey Wyatt Recreation Complex.
  • Enhancements to Zupp Park.
  • Community Facilities:
  • Securing and renovating a Senior Facility/Community House.
  • Economic Development:
  • Initiatives to attract new businesses and support local enterprises to boost our economy.
  • City Operations:
  • Hiring a full-time legislative assistant to improve the efficiency of city operations to support Ward 3.
  • Implementation of a 3% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for all city employees, up to a maximum of $3,000.
  • Holiday incentive of $500 for full-time employees and $250 for part-time employees.

Councilwoman Arnold believes this budget will help us build a stronger, more vibrant city for all residents.

For more detailed information on the budget, please visit the City’s website or contact the Finance Department.

The MARTA Market in Ward 3

MARTA is pleased to kick-off the 8th year of the MARTA Market! πŸŽπŸ›οΈ

The MARTA Market sources locally grown produce from farmers affiliated with Community Farmers Markets and several local food hubs. This allows local farmers to sell more produce to consumers who might not otherwise make it to a farmer's market. Non-local produce complements this produce so that MARTA Market patrons can shop for a large amount of fresh food on their way to or from home.

The markets accept cash, credit, debit, and EBT/SNAP. SNAP is doubled at the market, meaning that $5 swiped is worth $10 to spend.

The MARTA Market will be open at the College Park MARTA station each Thursday from 3-6pm, now until December 5th.

Volunteers Needed for Ward 3

Councilwoman Arnold is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and connected community in Ward 3. To achieve this, we are excited to invite passionate and committed individuals to join Councilwoman Arnold's team as a community volunteer, AKA "Ward 3 Thriver".

As a "Ward 3 Thriver", you will play a crucial role in enhancing community engagement and supporting various activities that contribute to the well-being of our neighborhood. Whether you have a knack for event planning, love connecting with people, or simply have a desire to make a positive impact, we welcome your unique skills and perspectives.

More details about these volunteer positions will be shared at the upcoming Ward 3 town hall meeting. In the meantime, if you have any questions or require further information, feel free to reach out to Councilwoman Arnold's legislative assistant at 404-669-3755.

Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community.
