Two Artists Celebrate
Mesa Verde

Milt Beens, well known painter and potter from Durango, and Jan Wright, watercolor artist from Mancos, are hosting a show and sale of over forty paintings of Mesa Verde National Park at Artisans of Mancos.
Artisans of Mancos, art co-operative located on the corner of Grand Ave and Main in Mancos, hosts this 50% OFF SALE the end of January through mid March. Opening reception features various chili dishes from several Artisans on Saturday, January 26, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Jan Wright, a Mesa Verde Volunteer since arriving in Mancos in 2008, exhibited at Far View Lodge for six years, was Artist in Residence in October of 2012, and then coordinated the AiR program at the park for three years. The program allows artists to stay two weeks up at the park to focus on their creative expression as well as be inspired by the beauty and culture of ancient life that once flourished there. Her many paintings have expressed her love and honoring of Mesa Verde in many exhibits throughout Mancos and Cortez.
Milt Beens, perhaps known more for his unique, functional pottery, has always painted in watercolor, acrylics, and now oils. Beens' multi talents brought him to Artisans of Mancos nine years ago, though he has exhibited throughout Durango for forty years, been an active member of Durango Art Center, had a gallery downtown for five years, and has won several awards as a painter in Durango and Ouray. He was Artist in Residence at Mesa Verde in September of 2015.
Please join Milt and Jan in celebrating Mesa Verde's beauty and uniqueness.
