The mission of the Mancos Valley Chorus is “to bring joy through the sounds of music” by performing at least five concerts during each of two concert seasons per year. The Chorus is directed by Ms. Kriss Larsen and accompanied by pianist Mr. Lee Bartley. Often we have guest musicians adding to the overall enjoyment of the concerts. The Chorus performs not only in Mancos, but also Cortez and Durango. Not open to the general public are the Valley Inn Nursing Home and the children’s Christmas concert held at the Mancos Opera House for the entire Mancos Elementary School. Visit us at mancosvalleychorus.org for performance dates, times and locations.

Why the Park needs your support for the license plate:

  • Budget Needs. Entrance fees and the federal budget appropriations fall short of the park’s needs. Mesa Verde National Park has a deferred project deficit of $57million some of which is needed to stabilize Spruce Tree House and Cliff Palace cliff dwellings. $30 from each license plate will support important projects at Mesa Verde National Park.
  • Mesa Verde contributes to the Colorado economy. The nearly 600,000 visitors to Mesa Verde each year spend over $55 million in communities near the park. That spending supports more than 800 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $66 million.
  • Park recognition. Nestled in the Four Corner region of Colorado, the Mesa Verde National Park License plate will spread the word about this unique Colorado destination.
