Please know that your clergy and wardens continue to pray for you all as we are apart from one another. We will try to stay connected with periodic email blasts with some suggested ways for us to feel the presence of each other while afar. Don't hesitate to call Linda+ at 860-559-5070 or Fr. Benjamin at 614-561-8913 if we can be helpful in any way. Here are some resources that may bind us together.

  • We will be live-streaming our mid-week Wednesday service of Holy Eucharist and our Sunday service. This week's Wednesday service can be found on St. John's website by clicking on the YouTube graphic at the top right-hand corner of the website welcome page.

  • We will live-stream one Sunday service at 10 a.m. only. It will include music, lessons, prayers, sermon, and Holy Eucharist. You can join us by going to the St. John's Youtube page.
  • Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will be posting on Mondays through May a meditation video, along with text, during this time of coronavirus. It's entitled "Habits of Grace," and the May 16. Stay tuned for these on our St. John's eNews.

  • Church Publishing has made available free resources through April 15: an online version of the Book of Common Prayer; Barbara Cawthorn Crafton's Living Lent (a day-by-day Lenten meditation); and Karin Holsinger Sherman's Candle Walk (for children).

  • Carolyn Sharp+ suggested that we, as a community, pray the same prayers individually at the same time of the day or sing a song. Let's try this:
-      Pray the Lord's Prayer at 8 a.m.

-      Pray Psalm 121 at noon   (BCP, 779)

I lift up my eyes to the hills; *
from where is my help to come?

My help comes from the Lord, *
the maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved *
and he who watches over you will not fall asleep.

Behold, he who keeps watch over Israel *
shall neither slumber nor sleep;

The Lord himself watches over you; *
the Lord is your shade at your right hand,

So that the sun shall not strike you by day, *
nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; *
it is he who shall keep you safe.

The Lord shall watch over your going out and your coming in, *
from this time forth for evermore.

-       Pray a prayer from Compline at 8 p.m.   (BCP, 134)

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.

-       Pray for those on our home prayer list
