Holiday Celebrations

Our sites have been decorated – and the celebrations will begin this week! Keep an eye on Facebook for pictures of smiling faces! 

 

COVID UPDATE: 

Since our last update on COVID in November- Positive Cases: there have been 32 positive cases at Sunshine Village - this has brought the total number of positive cases since March 17, 2020, to 298 (178 clients and 120 employees.)  We continue to follow our COVID-19 PLAN – which you can find on our website.

PROMOTION: 

We were featured in the Dakin Humane Society’s Winter 2022 newsletter. I have attached it so you can read all about our partnership with Dakin and our animal care ambassador, Sir Reginald.

TRANSITION FAIR: 

We presented our CBDS program – Pathways – at a virtual Transition Series sponsored by the S/W DDS office and the Agawam SPED this week. Colleen, Kelly, and Lisa shared a video and answered questions from the two families who joined the online presentation. If you would like to learn more about any of the Sunshine Village programs – visit us at www.sunshine.us or call!

 

HUMAN RESOURCES: 

We are recruiting for Direct Care Professionals and two Drivers. If you know someone who would like to work in a warm and welcoming environment – and be part of a GREAT team – have them apply!  

 

Year-End Retention Appreciation BonusWe are preparing to distribute the year-end bonus on December 30, 2022, of $2,000 for all employees ($1,000 for employees hired on or after September 6, 2022.) We really are an “Employer of Choice!”

 

SAFETY / RISK MANAGEMENT:

 Risk Assessment: Police Chief Richard Marchese (Retired) from Universal Security Associates LLC began the Security Risk Assessment and has visited all of our sites. We will be reviewing his final report and making enhancements to the security protocols at our sites – to ensure that we are keeping everyone as safe as possible.      

 

SERVICES:

 Career Track Training: Our CBDS programs are working with Holyoke Community College in an effort to provide culinary, hospitality, and other industry-based training within their Adult Education and Workforce Development department that supports people with subsidized job training.

 

Holiday Decorating: 

All programs created handmade ornaments and visited the Holyoke / Chicopee Area Office of DDS to help them decorate their office. It was another GREAT day at Sunshine Village!
