ANAC thanks Francisco Ruiz
Francisco Ruiz departed his role as Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy under the Biden-Harris Administration. This critical position coordinates and leads on the development and implementation of the National HIV AIDS Strategy among other important initiatives. In his closing message he noted, "We transformed exclusion into power, turning the impossible into a shared reality." This has special resonance as during his tenure, he not only helped to focus the light on the impact of HIV on Latino communities, but also demonstrated a genuine inclusion & recognition of nurses in the HIV response. Adelente!!
FAPP recommendations to Trump Admin
The Federal AIDS Policy Partnership (FAPP), a national coalition of local, regional, and national organizations advocating for federal legislation and policy seeking to end the HIV epidemic in the United States has submitted recommendations to the Trump transition team. ANAC participates in FAPP and has signed on to this document.

Lenacapavir and Health Equity: Exploring the Conversation
There’s a lot of excitement around lenacapavir, a long-acting injectable that could change the future of HIV prevention. But with it come important questions about access and health equity—questions that many in the HIV community are asking. AVAC’s latest blog takes a closer look at these issues and what they mean for global efforts to ensure that everyone benefits from new prevention options.
Cheers to our global community!
As we welcome 2025, let's take a moment to celebrate all we've accomplished together. This past year, ANAC’s global membership grew substantially, with new members from countries like Ghana, Nigeria and the Philippines adding to our vibrant community. Looking ahead, we're excited to hear from you through our global membership survey, build a global chapters framework and explore new funding opportunities to keep growing and thriving. Contact ANAC Global Coordinator Mwikali Kamami for more information. Thank you for being part of this journey—we couldn’t do it without you!
