Dear Friends,
As you may remember, last November we shared with you the difficult decision to close the Cenacle Retreat House/Cenacle on Memorial as of May 31, 2020. At the same time, we told you of the gradual emergence of Emmaus Spirituality Center, born of the desire of our spiritual directors and friends to continue our legacy of spiritual ministry.
After many months of faithful and diligent work,
Emmaus
has come to birth! It is a privilege to walk with this discerning faith community: rooted in Cenacle Spirituality, grounded in prayer, and ecumenical in nature, as they have come to know themselves in a new way. Their Mission Statement says it well:
They are called...
To companion all who desire
to awaken and deepen their relationship with God, self and others,
and to accompany them on their journey of transformation.
As a part of this, Emmaus Spirituality Center will sponsor the Spiritual Direction Institute. The transfer of program with its staff from the Cenacle to Emmaus is a significant part of continuing the ministry which flows from the Cenacle charism. Along with the actual formation program, Emmaus will also sponsor the supervision program and Professional Development Days for spiritual directors.
Especially in this moment, as we continue to live with the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis, it is truly a blessing to witness how God continues to create something new.
How good it is!
It is a joy for us to introduce you to Emmaus Spirituality Center, and we look forward to our continued collaboration with this group of gifted spiritual directors as we work together to serve the spiritual needs of the people of God in the Texas Gulf Coast area. Join us in asking God’s abundant blessings on Emmaus and on their ministry. Please continue to pray for us, too, in this time of transition.
With love in Christ, your Cenacle Sisters,
Mary Dennison, Lois Dideon, Ann Goggin, Roselle Haas, and Mary Ann Peters
And, now...
a message from Emmaus Spirituality Center...
