Volunteer Newsletter
March 2020
Winterfest 2020 has come and gone. Although the temperatures were chillier than anticipated, we saw an abundance of folks out to enjoy our annual winter celebration.

It is thanks to the amazing volunteers in our community, who readily come out to help Town staff, that Winterfest 2020 was such a success.

31 community members came out and provided a total of 95 hours of their time supporting the many different activities that took place.

  • Our Mayor and members of Council served hot chocolate,
  • Pathfinders & members of the Optimist Club helped with the Li’l Chipper ice carving station,
  • Blackfalds Fire Fighters Association provided their charity BBQ,
  • 1st Blackfalds Scouts manned the fire pit,
  • DIDS hosted the community pancake breakfast and the Family Free Skate,
  • Dad’s Day Off hosted Family Game Time with a great selection of games for people to try &
  • Blackfalds Youth Crew once again hosted a very successful Family Bingo at the Hall.

Thank you all so much for your help and support, it really builds community and you are all so very appreciated.

We welcome any feedback or suggestions that you may have that might improve your volunteer experience. Please email Cara , our Volunteer Programmer so that we can track your comments and keep them handy for our event planning for future events.

Thanks again for making Winterfest 2020 such a fabulous event!

Sue Bornn, FCSS Manager
BE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY !
Volunteering offers vital assistance to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, therefore transforming both the lives of the people who volunteer and those who benefit.
